Just In: Newcastle is prepared to consider a double agreement for a £250,000 weekly pair at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe is contemplating joining a Premier League pair

Newcastle United, get ready for some entertainment! There is hardly a player in the world who won’t be associated with Eddie Howe’s team in the upcoming months given the amount of money they have available. There are hints that they only want to spend about £75 million, but if they decide to aim high, that sum can be completely blown out of the water.

Where do they wish to make improvements?
Newcastle is moving up to play in the Champions League, and they want to sprinkle a little gold dust on this team. Eddie Howe is hesitant about making marquee acquisitions too quickly and would prefer they proceed slowly in the coming months, but the owners will push this to its absolute extent. They view their new position as an occasion deserving of one or two major agreements.

Who might they sign for?
Players like Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay from Manchester United, who each make £250,000 per week, would be sensible additions, but the fan base doesn’t appear overly enthusiastic about the concept. Both of these guys have been mentioned as potentials and have the pedigree to help take the team forwards, despite what the public reputation might be right now.

Newcastle definitely intend to look at the left back slot, with Kieran Tierney an early target. He is valued around £30million by Arsenal though, and Newcastle do not begin the window with that same number in mind. Expect them to look at James Maddison early on as they battle with Tottenham while Southampton pair James Ward-Prowse and Kyle Walker-Peters could become interesting.

One dream signing this summer?

Neymar! You read the rumours and probably laughed them off – but you never know! It is likely that this is exactly the sort of signing boss Howe would like to avoid right now but among the owners, PIF, there is a feeling he is exactly who they should be targeting if there is intent to bring a new wide creator into the team. If you’re going to go there, why not sign one of the best in the business?

Striking the right balance. Newcastle’s trajectory has been rapid but they must not run before they can walk. The team have arrived on the Champions League stage faster than even they expected and now they have to ensure the squad continues to have a balanced look to it. The signings up to now have been carefully plotted and the team has been designed so that the personalities do not cause problems.

Newcastle submits first offer for LaLiga star on Chelsea and Liverpool’s radar.

According to reports, Newcastle has reportedly made a sizable bid for Aurelien Tchouameni, a midfielder for Real Madrid, as Eddie Howe tries to get a jump on his competitors.

Franck Kessie and Aurelien Tchouameni

Given that St James’ Park will play host to the Champions League in 2023–2024, these are exciting times. Few people anticipated a top-four result so fast, despite the club being taken over with Saudi support. The north-east team has grown thanks to excellent recruitment and a shared sense of teamwork.

The man in charge is Howe, who has done a good job overall since taking over for Steve Bruce.

The next phase is to add players who can help the team get better while keeping an eye on Europe.

And in light of that, it appears that they have turned to Real’s 23-year-old enforcer.

Tchouameni, 24, began his career with Bordeaux, making 37 appearances before moving to Monaco in January 2020.

Having enjoyed 95 outings for the principality outfit, he moved to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2022.

Los Blancos are said to have paid €80m for the schemer who inked a six-year deal at the Bernabeu.

Liverpool were linked at the time but he opted for Real. Much was expected of the Rouen-born star but he has failed to hit the expected heights.

He was handed 33 LaLiga appearances but only 24 starts. And with Jude Bellingham set to arrive next season, the Frenchman may see even less game time.

Rivals circling for Tchouameni signature

It remains to be seen if Real chief Carlo Ancelotti sanctions Tchouameni’s exit. But, if allowed to leave, he will have no shortage of suitors.

In addition to NewcastleLiverpool are thought to still hold and interest while Chelsea have also been linked.

But the Tynesiders have reportedly moved first, with Spanish outlet Defensa Central suggesting an offer of €80m is now on the table.

Tchouameni would add some steel to the midfield which is packed full of attacking and exciting players.

Howe has the likes of Joelinton, Miguel Almiron, Joe Willock, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon to call on.

Tchouameni would be recruited to protect a defence that conceded the joint-fewest goals along with Manchester City last term.

Other clubs may look to match Newcastle’s offer but the Reds and Blues cannot offer Champions League football.

It is a measure of just how far the club has come that they are now competing with the established ‘giants’ for top players.

Howe made it clear that he would not recruit players just for the sake of it but every signing would have to fit into the plan.

He has stuck to that mantra and a move for Tchouameni makes perfect sense.

The club’s hierarchy have made it clear they will continue to back the boss in the transfer market.

And it would be no surprise if they upped their bid if Real refuse to play ball on the numbers being quoted.

Pochettino cull to continue as Newcastle set to move for cut-price Chelsea misfit offered to LaLiga giants

Newcastle are reportedly eyeing a move for Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella as they look to add quality to their ranks for next season’s challenge.

The Magpies are way ahead of where they intended to be having finished fourth last season. Manager Eddie Howe admitted his surprise that the Tynesiders managed to secure Champions League football after his first full season in charge. The ex-Bournemouth chief kept the north-east outfit in the Premier League after replacing Steve Bruce.

But after some astute work in the transfer market, he then guided them to Europe’s elite club competition.

All at the club know that it will be tougher next term, with the prospect of some top European teams at St James’ Park.

And with that in mind, it would surprise nobody to see some quality additions during the off-season.

Howe confessed that he would not spend the club’s money aimlessly to bolster his squad.

He wants players who can make a real difference, and the Blues left-back reportedly fits the bill.

Signed from Brighton for an initial £55m, much was expected of the Spain international at Stamford Bridge.

However, he failed to hit the heights in west London and may well be vulnerable to a summer exit.

Chelsea have far too many players on their books and new manager Mauricio Pochettino knows he must trim the squad.

And it seems as though Cucurella could be one of the players sacrificed to balance the books.

But it is open to debate as to whether they would be able to recoup what they paid for the former Getafe man.

Cucurella Newcastle connection makes perfect sense

Howe seems to be in the market for a left-back. And he will know all about what Cucurella is capable of doing.

Magpies sporting director Dan Ashworth was responsible for bringing the defender to Brighton when technical direct of the Seagulls.

And, according to The Mirror, it seems as though he wants a reunion with the former Barcelona youth player at Newcastle.

The 24-year-lld failed to make a senior appearance for Barca. He was loaned out to Eibar and Getafe while on the Nou Camp books.

And it was in June 2020 that he inked permanent terms with Getafe.

He was certainly a favourite of former Brighton boss Graham Potter, who handed him 35 Premier League starts in 2021-2022.

He picked up a thigh injury in April this year, missing the rest of Chelsea’s woeful campaign.

But it may be that he is among the expected players to leave the Bridge before the start of 2023-2024.

The Alella-born star could have other options. It was reported last month that Chelsea were pondering the idea of using him as makeweight in another deal.

Joao Felix’s loan deal from Atletico Madrid has now expired but it has been suggested Pochettino wants him back for next season.

That might be a tough move to pull off and The Standard reported that Cucurella and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might be offered as a sweetener.

Whether Diego Simeone wants the Blues pair is another matter. But his relationship with Felix is said to be non-existent.

Newcastle will hope that Cucurella is not jettisoned to Madrid and he remains an option to snare ahead of next season.

Newcastle clear two huge hurdles as Liverpool icon edges closer to shock Magpies move; Klopp left stunned

Newcastle United are getting closer to signing an iconic former Liverpool player after surpassing two significant barriers for his potential move, according to a major report.

Newcastle will play in the Champions League next season after managing to finish fourth in the Premier League during the 2022-23 season. Recent signings such as Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak and Kieran Trippier have helped the Magpies go up a level and become a real force in the Prem.

Newcastle chiefs have shown they are keen to ensure the future of the club is bright by signing 18-year-old Gambia forward Yankuba Minteh from Danish side OB recently. He has followed fellow young prospect Garang Kuol to St James’ Park, as the Australia international signed for Newcastle in January.

While these transfers should prove to be effective in the future, Newcastle must ensure they continue on their upward trajectory by fighting for a top-four spot next season and competing well in the Champions League. This means manager Eddie Howe needs some more high-quality additions to his squad this summer.

Surprisingly, Newcastle could land former Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane. The 31-year-old had a troublesome debut season at Bayern, failing to replicate his Liverpool form and also getting suspended after allegedly punching team-mate Leroy Sane.

Mane’s problems in Germany have resulted in several rumours about a Prem return. Chelsea and Manchester United have both been linked, but now it seems Newcastle are the frontrunners to sign him.

Newcastle ready to pull trigger on Arsenal raid for top Howe target, with timeline following ‘formal bid’ reported

On June 5, German outlet Sport1 revealed how Newcastle had been ‘offered’ the chance to capture Mane. Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is not happy with him and supposedly wants to engineer his exit so that a younger, less problematic striker can arrive at the club.

And now, fellow German source Bild claim Mane’s Newcastle move is gaining momentum. They state that the fact Newcastle have huge finances at their disposal means they can ‘easily afford’ both Mane’s transfer fee and wages. The report does not mention how much the Senegalese may cost, although his salary is €22m (£19m) per year. That works out at round £360,000 a week, the most of any Bayern player.

Former Liverpool man attracted by Newcastle move

It seems Newcastle have cleared the first hurdle to sign Mane. And they will also be able to convince Mane to join them, as Bild claim a switch to St James’ Park ‘would be attractive’ for him.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, Liverpool

Mane’s experience and fantastic scoring record at Liverpool means Howe would have no choice but to put him straight in the starting eleven, which means he would get regular game time. Plus, Newcastle can offer Mane the chance to continue playing in the UCL.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, plus the club’s fans, would be stunned if Mane returned to England by signing for Newcastle. The Africa Cup of Nations winner spent six years at Anfield, scoring 120 goals and helping Klopp’s side win major trophies such as the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.

But Mane would not be the first player to complete such a move. After leaving Arsenal for Barcelona, Cesc Fabregas returned to the Prem by signing for Chelsea in 2014. And Chelsea great Frank Lampard surprisingly had a loan spell at Manchester City while on the books of MLS side New York City.
