Liverpool ready to offer “extremely important contract” to generational talent
Liverpool and Chelsea are prepared to offer Kylian Mbappe an “extremely important contract” in an attempt to lure him to the Premier League.
The French superstar is out of contract at the end of the season but has an option that only he can activate to stay at PSG for another year.
As things stand, that looks unlikely. It’s also unlikely Liverpool sign him but the latest reports claim otherwise.
Liverpool prepared to offer contract to Kylian Mbappe
Liverpool and Chelsea are both ready to offer Mbappe “extremely important contracts”.
This is reported by le10sport.com, via Sport Bible, but is the least likely transfer that Liverpool will be linked with.
Details of Kylian Mbappe PSG contract
As we all know, his income is nowhere near the sort of range Liverpool are prepared to offer. The Reds, despite being tagged as a stingy club, has one of the biggest wage bills in the world.
Despite that, they will never ever match his reported £893,000/week PSG contract.
With Mbappe’s contract set to expire in June 2024, all the biggest clubs in Europe will harbour hopes of being the lucky club to sign the mercurial forward.
At the tender age of 24, Mbappe already has 252 goals and 116 assists in 334 appearances for PSG.
Liverpool transfer priorities don’t align with Mbappe dream
Klopp has already spoken on links to Mbappe in the past, admitting he and his colleagues laugh about the rumours when they crop back up.
In July, the boss said: “We laugh about it. I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all.
“I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.”
Liverpool took over a year to negotiate a new contract with Mohamed Salah so it borders on insanity to imagine a scenario where FSG matches the £893,000/week he earns in Paris.
Moreover, the Reds are prioritising signing a new defensive midfielder and centre-back over attacking signings.
