Real Madrid are said to have no plans to sign anyone in the January transfer window, giving Liverpool an advantage in their pursuit of Goncalo Inacio.
According to Marca, Los Blancos have no plans to sign anyone in the upcoming winter market, with Carlo Ancelotti content with his current squad, which could go top of La Liga with a win tonight.
In recent weeks, Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon defender Inacio, with a January move for the £52 million-rated centre-back rumored.
However, this update appears to indicate that no such move will take place in January, leaving Liverpool with a golden opportunity to sign Inacio in 2024.
Indeed, the Reds are in desperate need of a top defensive signing in the coming window, and Inacio could be a dream signing for Liverpool now that Real Madrid has dropped out of the race.
Jurgen Klopp’s plan should now be to complete the signing as soon as possible, with Inacio a prospect too good to let slip through Liverpool’s fingers in January.
Liverpool need to move for Inacio after Real Madrid change
Madrid’s decision not to sign any players in January is intriguing, but understandable given how difficult the market is at this time of year.
However, Madrid’s new stance will allow Liverpool to move for Inacio without being opposed by a European giant, with the Reds arguably the favourites for the defender.
With a £52 million asking price, Liverpool must act quickly if they are to add Inacio to their ranks, with the Portuguese international an ideal signing for Klopp’s squad this January.
