Just in: Liverpool is “closely” tracking a £336,000-per-week star: an £80 million fee is required.

Liverpool remain interested in Leroy Sane, whose contract with Bayern Munich is up in the air.

This season, the German forward has nine goals and seven assists in all competitions, demonstrating to Europe why he is one of the best attackers on the continent.

His contract will expire in June 2025 unless Bayern can reach an agreement to keep him at the Allianz Arena.

This has naturally piqued the interest of clubs such as Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Christian Falk, a reputable German journalist, reported on Sane’s future this week, writing that the player will hold contract talks with Bayern after the international break.

What is the most recent update on Liverpool’s interest in Leroy Sane?
Sane already earns around €20 million per year with the Bundesliga club, with a weekly salary of around €384,000 (£336,000/week).

Jan Aage Fjortoft has now tweeted about Sane’s future.

“RE: Leroy Sane,” he said. Contract until the age of 25.

“Bayern has begun to discuss an extension.”

“Liverpool are keeping a close eye on his situation, Manchester City would love to have him back, and Real Madrid are always on a player’s mind.”

“Got a feeling that Bayern will get him to sign.”

Sane discusses his future plans.
Fabrizio Romano shared quotes from Sane on Friday evening, as his future remains a source of intense speculation.

“I haven’t given it much thought yet,” the winger said. The club wants to talk, but I want to focus on this season right now.

“There is no doubt that FC Bayern remains my first point of contact.”

If Mohamed Salah leaves the club, which seems unlikely given David Ornstein’s comments, Sane is one of the most natural candidates to take his place at Anfield.

Of course, he used to play for Manchester City, which may complicate matters, but if Jurgen Klopp wants a player capable of approaching Salah’s levels with Liverpool, Sane is one of the best options.

His wages are enormous, but if Bayern are concerned that they will lose him for free when his contract expires in 2025, Liverpool can negotiate a fee lower than the reported £80 million.
