Just in: Kompany interested in signing 22 -year-old starlet on a loan deal.

Burnley is interested in the midfielder from Arsenal.

Following his loan stint at Crystal Palace in the second half of the previous season, the Arsenal may be willing to let the Belgian international go out on loan once more.

Prior to Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi moving on to Aston Villa, the 23-year-old also attracted interest from Sevilla.

Following his loan stint at Crystal Palace in the second half of the previous season, the Arsenal may be willing to let the Belgian international go out on loan once more.

Before Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi left for Aston Villa, Lokonga, 23, attracted interest from them as well.

Burnley has also inquired about El Bilal Toure, 21, of Almeria, and Georges Mikautadze, 22, a striker for Metz.

Lokonga made 39 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s team before moving from Anderlecht to Arsenal in 2021.

Lokonga was under the direction of current Burnley manager Vincent Kompany when he was at Anderlecht.

Speaking in 2021, Kompany disclosed that he had described Lokonga as “the new Yaya Toure” to Mikel Arteta.

‘As I was still at City, I was approaching to a moment where I was thinking about my future; management, carry on, sign a new term there,’ Kompany said to the FIVE YouTube channel.

“I was watching football from various countries, and I saw Sambi play his first two matches for Anderlecht before suffering a serious knee injury.”

But when I first saw Sambi, I went to Mikel and then to Pep, but I went to Mikel first. I told Mikel, “You’ve got to watch this guy; he’s the new Yaya.” Toure.

In any case, nothing transpires, he suffers a cruciate ligament injury, and I wind up landing the managerial position at Anderlecht, where I now collaborate with him. In our chat about him with Mikel, I expressed the same belief, which I still hold today: “He could be the new Toure.”
