Before joining Sochaux in 2014, the France international spent five years in the Paris FC academy. The Paris-born defender was promoted to their first team in 2017 after three years with their youth team.

Ibrahima Konaté of Liverpool has admitted that he has considered joining PSG.

In the same year, he joined RB Leipzig before moving to Liverpool in 2021. Canal Football Club spoke with Konaté, who is pleased that PSG has several players from the Paris area in their squad. Foot Mercato relays his comments.

The Reds’ contract with the centre-back expires in 2026, opening the door for him to join the Ligue 1 champions in the future.
“Today, PSG recruited players who get along well and have played for the national team.” It makes Parisian fans happy because they have their own Parisians on their team. This is what they’ve been looking for for years. What if I end up at PSG? But no, saying no would be a lie,” he said.

Despite admitting his desire to play for his hometown club, the 24-year-old has insisted that he is now focused on his responsibilities at Liverpool.

“But to tell you that I’m thinking of it [moving to PSG] as a goal at the moment, not at all,” Konaté said in an interview.

This season, the Frenchman has made 11 appearances, including five league starts. He missed two games due to injury and then lost his starting spot in Liverpool’s lineup to Jol Matip before regaining it at the start of last month.
