Just in: “He’s an amazing guy,” says Alexis Mac Allister, who acknowledges that he and the £50 million Liverpool player have grown close.

According to Alexis Mac Allister, he and Luis Diaz have been really close while at Liverpool.

This summer, Mac Allister moved from Brighton to the Reds, where he instantly became close friends with Darwin Nunez and Diaz, two other South Americans.

Naturally, Diaz has had a dreadful experience lately due to the kidnapping of his father in his native Colombia. But happily, Lucho’s misery is over as his father was released safely yesterday and reunited with his family.

After yesterday’s defeat to Toulouse, Mac Allister discussed that incident with LFCTV and commended Diaz for his handling of such a grave situation.

“We are overjoyed by the amazing news,” the 24-year-old remarked. He has been anticipating this moment for a few days or weeks. He learned before the game began, and we are thrilled for him because, although going through a really trying time, he is a very mature man and handled it extremely well.

The fact that he left his family behind and is still with us demonstrates his strength. I’m thrilled for him; what a great guy. I have a close relationship with him, and this is wonderful news for all of us.

Mac Allister praises Diaz’s companionship
It must have been crucial for Diaz to have supportive friends in Liverpool during this horrible ordeal.

Being so far away from his family in Colombia must have been driving the £50 million guy insane.

Fortunately, Diaz has a little piece of home here in Liverpool. Even if their cultures might not be entirely compatible, it’s remarkable how quickly the Reds’ South American teammates have bonded.

They’re hardly ever seen apart during practise and on match days.

It’s also convenient for Mac Allister to have. The World Cup winner might have found it difficult to blend in at Liverpool because he had no international or previous teammates.

Mac Allister appeared modest and unassuming, yet he might have crumbled in a powerful changing room.

It’s fortunate for him that he now has Lucho, Darwin, and Alisson Becker as companions. Earlier this week, Nunez was seen making fun of Alexis for his hairstyle. They seem to be very much in love with one another.

Hopefully, Diaz’s ability to feel at ease and content will enable him to regain his peak performance now that he has left this horror behind him.
