Paul Merson has named a Liverpool star as his favorite Premier League player, citing his ‘outstanding’ impact this season.
There’s no denying that Jurgen Klopp’s team has had an impressive start to the new season, as they currently sit fourth in the table.
Liverpool is only three points behind league leaders Tottenham, and the Reds have more than enough firepower to compete for the title this season.
Darwin Nunez has recently found his scoring boots, and Mohamed Salah continues to deliver on a consistent basis.
Merson has been impressed with Nunez recently, but his favorite Premier League player is his teammate Dominik Szoboszlai.
“Darwin Nunez scored a great goal against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup and is showing his class this season,” Merson said in a statement.
“His decision making wasn’t the best last year, and he wasn’t getting his head up enough to look for his teammates, but he looks a lot more confident now.”

The attacking midfielder has adjusted quickly to his new surroundings, and Liverpool fans have been impressed by what they have seen so far.
Szoboszlai was Liverpool’s most expensive summer signing, costing RB Leipzig a reported £60 million.
Klopp clearly admires the 23-year-old, and he didn’t hold back when asked about the summer signing earlier this season.
“I am impressed as well,” Klopp said to reporters. “It’s obvious. I hadn’t met him before; I knew him as a footballer, but not as a person. The boy is impressive, intelligent, and charming.
“A fantastic young man. Is close to everyone. You have these people who walk into a room and instantly connect with everyone; he has that, charisma, [or] whatever you want to call it.
“He was in the team in an instant, there’s no doubt about it, and he was so happy to be here, it was really nice to see.” It was really nice to see how much it meant to him, and that was the end of it.”
