It’s the transfer saga of the summer window that’s set to run and run, but there may be a resolution either
way to Harry Kane’s Tottenham future in due course.
Daniel Levy is caught between a rock and a hard place at the moment given that if he accedes to selling his striker he will
always be known as the chairman that cashed in his chips, equally, if he doesn’t get some money in for the England captain,
Kane can simply walk away in 12 months time for nothing.
To that end, it’s entirely right that Levy should be shopping around and doing the groundwork for a potential replacement
should Kane drop the bombshell that his time at the club has come to an end.
Whomever comes in should that be necessary will certainly have a huge task on their hands because though Kane isn’t
irreplaceable per se, he is the de facto goal king at White Hart Lane so any other number nine is likely to be seen as a
downgrade, however good he may be.
According to Football Transfers, Brentford’s Ivan Toney is being looked at as Tottenham’s potential new striker.
At present Toney is serving a ban for betting related issues and isn’t available until January in any event.
That could work in Spurs’ favour as Levy could give Kane guarantees he could leave in the new year, still command a fee for
him at that stage and be able to bring in a direct replacement – something he’s unlikely to do this summer should Kane be
tempted by Bayern Munich’s overtures.

Man Utd and Tottenham can do ready-made deal to stop Harry Kane joining Bayern Munich
The future of Tottenham and England captain Harry Kane could not be further from being resolved. Unlike a year ago when
the striker publicly voiced his desire to move on from north London amid intense interest from Manchester City, Kane is
holding an ominous air of silence.
It it understood that Kane, who turns 30 next week, has received several points of contact from Bayern Munich and has all
but given his word to the German giants that he wishes to join them this summer.
Bayern chiefs have already come into very hot water with their conduct and words surrounding Kane, after publicly stating
that the England ace must “keep his word” which will result in Tottenham eventually starting to “buckle” and strike an
agreement.
Tottenham’s notoriously tough chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be incensed by Bayern’s actions and the very overt
nature in which they are trying to prise away the club’s most prolific asset.
It is at this rather unexpected juncture therefore that Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag have the opportunity to
enter proceedings.
Just over 12 months ago Levy and Spurs made it impossible for Kane to join City, purely down to a dogged determination
not to allow such a talent to join a Premier League rival.
City, in turn, focused their attentions on bringing Erling Haaland to English shores. Since then, United had been met with an
identical response from the powers that be in north London, with Spurs terrified of what Kane could do for another team in
the Premier League and the potential dominance he could give to a familiar foe.
Bayern Munich had taken encouragement from Tottenham’s perceived preference to send Kane overseas if they had to sell,
though the recent actions of the Bavarians may have turned the whole thing on its head.
United remain very much in the market for a central striker this summer, with Ten Hag still yet to truly replace club icon
Cristiano Ronaldo. The Red Devils have the funds to co-operate with Levy’s lofty demands, however the a trump card exists
in the form of Anthony Martial.
