Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has been apologized to after he was forced to listen to heckling supporters during a recent post-match press conference.
Following Jurgen Klopp’s outburst regarding the press room at Toulouse, a senior Toulouse member extended his regrets to the manager of Liverpool.
After his team lost the Europa League match 3-2 to the Ligue 1 team, Klopp was not in a good mood. He was particularly incensed when VAR rejected a late equalizer by Jarrell Quansah, a young player for Liverpool, when Diogo Jota was found to have handled the ball during the build-up.
The former manager of Borussia Dortmund was still fuming, and he had to hold his press conference following the game in front of boisterous Toulouse fans. Following this awkwardly funny conversation, the Toulouse board sent Klopp a message.
“We were as organized as this press conference, pretty chaotic,” Klopp said in response to the first question posed to him. It was someone else’s idea to hold the press conference here. Whoa.
Olivier Jauber, general director of Toulouse, responded to an inquiry about the difficult moment by saying to RMC, “I got in touch with Liverpool’s general secretary right away.
“We apologized in writing to the club. It transpires that UEFA determined the stadium’s press facility was insufficient for this gathering.
“The installation of a pavilion for press conferences, like those for the Rugby World Cup, was requested. This marquee is clearly outside the enclosure, in a fully enclosed space, just next to it. However, the throng was unavoidably singing.”
The easy 3-0 victory his squad had over Brentford at home would have lifted Klopp’s spirits considerably. Diogo Jota’s goal in the second half and Mohamed Salah’s brace helped to ensure a comfortable victory over Thomas Frank’s team.
They trail only one point behind Premier League leaders Manchester City heading into the international break.
