Celtics Getting Reinforcements Ahead of Wednesday’s Bucks Game
Monday night in the Queen City, the Boston Celtics saw the NBA’s longest active win streak snapped after six straight victories.
The visitors blew a nine-point lead with two minutes left, going scoreless to end regulation.
They also couldn’t hold on to a two-point advantage in the final minute of overtime, falling 121-118 to the Charlotte Hornets.
Now they return home after four consecutive contests away from TD Garden, where they’ll host the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
And while the Celtics were missing Al Horford (rest) and Derrick White due to personal reasons in their loss to Charlotte, their injury report in advance of the battle between the team with the NBA’s best record (11-3) and the third seed in the Eastern Conference is a clean sheet.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and company got off to a rocky start this season, but they’ve looked better of late, feasting on lower-caliber opposition like the Washington Wizards.
The Bucks have won five straight games and are 8-2 in their last ten tilts. At 10-4, Milwaukee is only one game behind Boston in the East.
According to Eric Nehm of The Athletic, the visitors list Lillard, dealing with a left oblique strain, as probable for this potential Eastern Conference Finals preview.
MarJon Beauchamp, who has a right ankle sprain, and Chris Livingston, who has a left ankle sprain, are also listed as probable.
Wednesday night’s matchup between the Celtics and Bucks will tip off at 7:30 EST at TD Garden.
Inside The Celtics will have content related to the contest coming out before, during, and afterward.
