Just In: Boston Celtics Coach Joe Mazzulla Reveals Key Factor That Doomed Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks made a game out of what should have been a total blowout by the Boston Celtics.

The home team was up big in Wednesday’s Eastern Conference showdown only for Milwaukee to cut the lead down to four points in the dying moments of the game.

The Celtics eventually held on for a 119-116 victory, but there’s no denying that the Bucks got dominated in this one.

Celtics HC Lauds Jaylen Brown’s Heroics Vs. Milwaukee Bucks

After the game, a relieved Joe Mazzulla spoke out on what turned out to be a game that was too close for comfort.

The Celtics head coach heaped praise on Jaylen Brown as the instigator that led Boston to a statement victory over their East rivals:

“Jaylen [Brown] was phenomenal on both ends of the court,” Mazzulla said, via Eric Jay Santos of FanNation. “His defensive effort and, offensively, just making the right plays… whether it was lay-ups or lobs.”

Brown finished with a team-high 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting, with two rebounds, and two three-pointers.

His playmaking was on point in this one as well, with the two-time All-Star dishing out a season-high eight assists on the evening.

As you would have expected, however, Mazzulla wasn’t totally pleased with his team’s effort.

They should have closed this game out sooner, but their poor execution down the stretch allowed the Bucks to creep back in.

“I thought we could still be a little better at executing at the end of the game,” Mazzulla said. “I thought the couple of fast passes that we had and the extra shots that we got and the open threes were because of the guys willing to be great play-makers. [Brown] set the tone in that tonight.”

The Celtics definitely have Brown to thank for this W.
