The Celtics have one last big piece of expected news this summer as fans wonder when the team and
Jaylen Brown will agree to terms on a supermax extension.
Brown was eligible for the five-year, $295 million starting July 1, but the Celtics and wing are still
negotiating through any deal.It appears there
won’t be any new movement in the short-term, as well, when it comes to the extension. The Boston
Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach reported that Brown is going overseas for a players union event, meaning
the two sides will push pause on the new contract.
At this point, Brown and the Celtics are still expected to agree to terms on a supermax deal. But it’ll
continued to be delayed while Brown is overseas. Boston president Brad Stevens recently shared some
optimism when speaking to reporters in Las Vegas for Summer League, though he wasn’t able to say
much about the negotiations.
