Jurgen Klopp reveals why he subbed Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez and Wataru Endo at half-time….

In the Europa League victory over Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, Jurgen Klopp made three substitutions for Liverpool, all of which he said were planned.

At Anfield in Group E, Klopp unexpectedly started Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez. Despite Cody Gakpo being injured and questionable for Sunday’s Premier League match against Brighton and Diogo Jota already having a suspension, that is the case.
As the Reds made nine alterations, Wataru Endo was also given a starting spot. Prior to Ryan Gravenberch’s goal at the 42-minute mark, Liverpool were not at their best in the first half as Salah and Nunez both missed significant opportunities. After the break, Luis Diaz, Curtis Jones, and Alexis Mac Allister took the place of Salah, Nunez, and Endo.

Diogo Jota’s composed finish against Union would give Liverpool the win in overtime.

Regarding the choice, Klopp informed the media: “Yes, all three subs were planned. That was the plan, assuming we could pull it off. It was obvious that these three youngsters go off if we could do it and no one else encountered any issues.
