What Liverpool supporters gave When the £40 million man finally arrived, Ryan Gravenberch spoke volumes.

After winning against Union Saint-Gilloise, Jurgen Klopp is able to achieve his goals, which is ironic in a strange way for Liverpool.

Even though Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, and Joel Matip were all on the replacements’ bench that night, Klopp said he had no regrets about starting Quansah. However, the Reds manager also disclosed that the young defender will still be required to play for the U21s at various times.

As he continues to hone his skills at the top of the senior level, defense will still be required to play occasionally for the U21s throughout the season.

“It’s part of his development,” Klopp said, “If you are not ready then it’s difficult to play football, but I was not in doubt he was ready for that. It’s all because of him. It was not a difficult decision to line him up tonight, he is still young, we have a really good football team together, which means he will get minutes.

“He will play under-21s as well. That is nice to see, it’s a joy to watch his development since he is properly with us. He is a really good footballer on the ball, outstanding, the chance of Mo (Salah) in the first half he could have got the assist, it was top defending, really quick thinking, stepping into it. He will feel rather good, I would say, and rightly so.”
