In a heartwarming gesture, Liverpool charters a private plane for Luis Diaz’s family and transports them to the UK  after the recent incident

Liverpool has flown Luis Diaz’s family to the UK for Christmas with their son.

The Diaz family has had a difficult few weeks following the kidnapping of the Colombian star’s mother and father by ELN in their hometown.

While the mother was immediately released by the kidnappers, the father was held captive for nearly two weeks before being released in a handover near the Venezuelan border.

Diaz remained at Liverpool throughout the ordeal, even scoring a crucial equalizer against Luton before revealing a message for his father on his undershirt.

Diaz, his mother, and his father had an emotional reunion during the international break, as the Liverpool star met with his family for the first time since the incident.

Diaz went on to score a brilliant brace against Brazil to help Colombia win 2-1 in front of his father.

And Liverpool has now made a wonderful gesture by flying the entire Diaz family to the UK so that the player and his family can spend quality time together following the ordeal.

Carl Markham of PA Media Sports reported on this. He revealed on X:

According to the Daily Mail, the plane landed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on Saturday morning. The player will return to his family after Colombia’s next international match against Paraguay on Tuesday.

The Merseyside club’s gesture is truly heartwarming, as they go out of their way to help the player recover mentally from the traumatic incident.

Liverpool’s next game is against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, and it is expected to be an exciting match between two teams that have produced some great matches in recent years.
