Hammers agree £3.3m transfer deal of 32 year old star.

West Ham United centre-back star, whose long-term future has been up in the air for a number of months, is closing in on a £3.3million move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham United centre-back Craig Dawson is closing in on a January move to Wolverhampton Wanderers after a deal between the two clubs has been agreed.

football.london understands a £3.3million deal has been struck after Wolves came close to signing the 32-year-old centre-back in the summer, only for a move to fall through at the end of the window.

Wolves made a bid to sign Dawson before the two sides met a week ago, which led to Dawson being left out of the Hammers’ squad at Molineux for the 1-0 defeat.

After being left out of the Hammers’ squad for their 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday, Julen Lopetegui’s team renewed their interest in the former West Bromwich Albion defender this week with a £3.3 million bid. A deal now appears closer to being finalized and could happen as early as Sunday.

Dawson joined the team in 2020 on loan from Watford and has since made 87 appearances in all competitions and scored nine goals for West Ham.

In addition to being chosen to the Europa League’s Team of the Year, Dawson assisted West Ham in advancing to the Europa League’s semifinals last season.

David Moyes makes 30 year old star claim after £12m West Ham transfer

After moving to West Ham United for £12 million from Aston Villa, the striker might make his debut against Everton on Saturday. Italian forward Gianluca Scamacca is expected to miss a little amount of time due to injury.

Danny Ings, a former Aston Villa striker who joined West Ham United for £12 million on Friday, has been described by manager David Moyes as “as good as it gets” after his acquisition by the Hammers.

The 30-year-old is set to make his debut for the Hammers against Everton on Saturday after signing a two and a half-year contract at the London Stadium.

Given that Ings has Premier League experience and that Moyes has previously made offers to sign attackers Youssef En-Nesyri and Terem Moffi from Sevilla and Lorient, respectively, earlier in the summer, Moyes believes that Ings’ arrival is low-risk and will have a significant impact.

“We need someone who knows the league,” declared Moyes. “We’ve looked at a few individuals and have been associated with a few players to try and enhance [us], but I wanted to bring in someone who wasn’t a risk and knew how to score.

“I believe Danny Ings to be the best there is, and to be fair, center forwards are difficult to find at this time of the year.

He has already adapted nicely to his new surroundings this morning, so we are overjoyed to have him.

Gianluca Scamacca’s knee injury increases Ings’ prospects of making a complete debut against the Toffees, who Ings has scored seven goals against in his career. He is 24 years old.

Speaking about his options, Moyes confirms the Italian has a knee issue, as rumoured earlier this week, leading to Ings’ arrival.

“He [Ings] adds to what I need,” Moyes added. “Gianluca Scamacca’s got a bit of a knee injury which is going to keep him out for a short time so at the moment I’ve only got Mick (Antonio) and Danny as out-and-out forwards.

“Jarrod Bowen I can use there as well. Hopefully he [Ings] settles well and its competition. You want the players who want competition because that challenges you more to get better.”
