According to The Athletic, the Germany international is best friends with Arsenal player Kai Havertz. He also told the outlet in July that he regrets not joining fellow countryman and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp at the Anfield club in 2017.
Although Liverpool still wants to sign Brandt, they chose to sign Mohamed Salah instead of him at the time.
In the latter half of the season, Arsenal is trying to strengthen their assault, and it seems manager Mikel Arteta has a soft spot for the 27-year-old.
Although Brandt’s primary position is left flank, he can also play center and right, and his versatility would come in useful at the club in North London.
He has scored four Bundesliga goals this term and weighed in with four assists in 11 games after ending last term with nine league goals and eight assists.
A move to the Premier League could finally appeal to Brandt after he opted to move to Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019, but the club are unlikely to be willing to lose such a player mid-way through the campaign.
Arsenal are long-term admirers and will look to make another attempt to finally land their man having shown interest ahead of the 2021 January transfer window.
Recent injuries to Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus have left the Gunners thin in attack, and it is a position they need to bolster during the winter transfer window to boost their chances of winning the Premier League title.
They will need to bring a very tempting offer to the table to have a chance of luring Dortmund into doing business given that the attacker signed an extension to his contract until June 2026 last summer.
They will also be keeping an eye out for other attacking targets, so it will be helpful to have a strong goal scorer in their ranks.
