Now that the clocks have been reset and the darkness has descended, it’s time for the transfer merry-go-round to begin spinning again.
With the January transfer window less than two months away, rumors are swirling, despite the fact that Liverpool is typically a quiet buyer in the winter market.
But, in case you’ve missed being bombarded with the zillion new signings Liverpool will undoubtedly make, here’s a quick rundown.
KYLIAN MBAPPE’s
Yes, it’s Kylian Mbappe once more. We know it’s boring, but L’Equipe has a new update on Liverpool’s interest in the superstar.
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s recruitment team are said to be in contact with the PSG striker and are confident of convincing him to move to Merseyside.
That sounds about right. Anyway…
ANDRE TRINDADE
Returning to reality, South American football expert Tim Vickery wrote for ESPN that Fluminense midfielder Andre was close to joining Liverpool last summer and “may well” join the Reds in January.
This one isn’t going away, with some reports claiming that personal terms have been reached.
If you want to see the 22-year-old in action ahead of a possible move to Merseyside, watch the Copa Libertadores final between Fluminense and Boca Juniors tonight.
DAICHI KAMADA
Daichi Kamada’s agent Gianluca di Carlo has insisted that Liverpool were interested in the Japan international during the summer, despite the fact that he arrived at Lazio on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Italian also admitted that Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski was on the verge of joining the Reds two years ago.
Thank you very much, I believe Jurgen Klopp is very pleased with the Japanese midfielder he signed from the Bundesliga this summer.
ARTHUR VERMEEREN
Despite Andre edging closer to an Anfield move, Liverpool are said to also have their sights on 18-year-old Royal Antwerp wonderkid Arthur Vermeeren, according to Mundo Deportivo.
There is interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona, but the Reds have also been linked with the teenage midfielder.
Apparently, it would take just £26m to coax him from Belgium.
LUIS GUILHERME
With Liverpool seemingly set to stock their squad with midfield wonderkids in true Chelsea fashion, Fabrizio Romano claims that the Reds are among a host of clubs looking at 17-year-old Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras.
Apparently, despite actually being a child, he has a release clause of £48m.
He’s also a No. 10, meaning Liverpool are going to have a squad entirely made up of midfielders. The irony.
LLOYD KELLY
Placed firmly in the underwhelming rumour pile, Liverpool are admirers of Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.
That’s according to Talksport at least, with the 25-year-old capable of playing centre-back or left-back.
However, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly the club most keen on Kelly at present.
INACIO, GONCALO
It’s time for your latest Goncalo Inacio rant, just like Mbappe. Open your arms wide.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the centre-back is still being monitored by Liverpool, but the good news is that rumours of Real Madrid agreeing a deal with the Portuguese defender are false.
