Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is reportedly open on a move to Manchester United despite rumoured interest from Liverpool.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the French international is keen on making the switch to Old Trafford, with United increasing their interest
in Pavard in recent weeks.
As per journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are open to selling Pavard this summer for €40m (£34m), an asking price that United could be keen on
matching with their next approach for the defender.
With Liverpool still firmly interested in Pavard, the Reds can’t allow United to get the upper hand in the race to sign the French international.
Although Jurgen Klopp’s side are trying to sign a midfielder, losing focus on a defender like Pavard could prove fatal heading into the new Premier
League season.
Liverpool have to reignite their interest in Pavard
Able to play both centre-back an right-back, there’s few defenders in the market this summer that are as perfect for Liverpool than Pavard, which is
why United’s interest is such an issue.
The Reds know they need to add to their defence this summer, and with three weeks left to bring in reinforcements to the backline, Liverpool have to
get into gear into their pursuit for Pavard.
And United’s interest should be the spark that ignites Liverpool into action, with Pavard simply too ideal for the Reds to miss out on this summer.

Liverpool are reportedly likely to sign Romeo Lavia with Moises Caicedo on the verge of signing for Chelsea for a Premier League record.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds are ‘likely’ to return for the Southampton teenager, with the Saints now expected to raise their asking
price to £55m after recent transfer events.
Liverpool’s sensational £110m bid for the Brighton & Hove Albion star could make signing the likes of Lavia challenging. However, the midfielder,
who Chelsea are also interested in, is still expected to move to Anfield.
The Belgian international had been strongly tipped to join Liverpool before news broke of the Reds’ bid for Caicedo, and according to Jacobs, there’s
a good chance Lavia still ends up on Merseyside.
The transfer insider said: “The feeling still remains, from sources, that Lavia would quite like to move to Liverpool. With Lavia, the ball is in
Liverpool’s court.”
How do they respond to Chelsea’s bid? Are they prepared to match it or even go higher? If so, I think Lavia is still quite likely to end up at Liverpool.
But, obviously, if Liverpool walk away, the dynamic changes.
Liverpool need Lavia wrapped up ASAP
Liverpool’s transfer activity has been quite bombastic in the last few days. And whilst Caicedo would have been a dream signing, many would agree
that Lavia should be wrapped up ASAP.
Many Liverpool fans will be disappointed that the Southampton teenager is not yet an official Red heading into today’s clash against Chelsea given
how strong the interest has been in the midfielder.
And as a result, Liverpool have to sign Lavia as soon as possible, with Caicedo now set for a move to Chelsea after an insane weekend of news and
revelations.
