Even though Dominik Szoboszlai has been one of Liverpool’s top players thus far this season, BBC Sport analyst Alan Shearer does not believe that he is quite ready to be compared to Anfield veteran Steven Gerrard.
Dominik Szoboszlai transferred from RB Leipzig to Liverpool during the summer transfer window, and the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League champion has already had a significant influence.
Szoboszlai has already established himself as a key member of boss Jurgen Klopp’s team after adjusting to the Premier League like a duck to water.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder from Hungary has appeared in six Premier League games for Liverpool this year and has one goal on the board.
The kid has so far this season scored one goal while serving as a substitute in the Carabao Cup.

“Sometimes it takes players time to settle, but not this guy,” Shearer continued. He immediately exudes authenticity.
Everything about his game, including the intensity a midfielder needs, is excellent, and he exudes class.
Although I am aware that it is still very early, based on what we have seen thus far, I believe it is premature to compare him to Steven Gerrard. But what a fantastic start to his Liverpool career he has had.

Yes, there are some excellent similarities, most notably their games’ energy, but the Hungarian has only appeared in a small number of Liverpool games.
Gerrard led Liverpool on his own for a very long time.
