EX-TOTTENHAM VERSATILE STAR JOINS LEEDS UNITED ON A SEASON LONG LOAN, AS “DEAL DONE” WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO THE TEAM ON CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE RACE.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon set to join Leeds United on a season-long loan

According to Mike McGrath, a reporter at Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur outcast Joe Rodon is set to join Leeds United on a season-long loan after being placed on

the transfer list at the N17.

That Rodon was on his way out of the club was never a surprise. Ever since the beginning of the summer, the young Welsh defender has been out of favour under

Ange Postecoglou throughout the pre-season.

Once touted as a world-class talent who can show his quality for Tottenham, his time at the club is coming to an end. Rodon has not really developed the way

everyone expected him to and it is time to part ways.

The 25-year-old defender spent last season out on loan at Rennes in France and he had a solid if not exceptional season. Despite this, Tottenham do not fancy taking

their chances with him and rightly so.

Tottenham have a very shaky defence as evidenced in the game against Barcelona last night where they conceded as many as four goals. Shipping out the likes of Joe

Rodon can help us reinforce a quality centre-back.

Cristian Romero is one player who possesses huge quality. The Argentinian though needs a reliable defender who can complement him though and Tottenham must

make it a priority to sign such a player.

There are other deadwood at the club that need to be shifted out. The likes of Davinson Sanchez must be allowed to leave so that the club can use the funds we get

from them to invest it elsewhere.

Rodon for his part might benefit from moving to a team like Leeds. He will definitely get regular game time there as the Yorkshire-based club look to return to the

English top flight as soon as possible.

Let’s see how this particular career decision pans out for Rodon. It might not have worked out here but that doesn’t make him a bad player. He can still make the

most out of his career.
