Burnley and a star for the Republic of Ireland and West Brom, have reached an agreement.
According to the report, the center-back will undergo a medical examination on Thursday, June 22, at Burnley’s Turf Moor training facility.
O’Shea played in 37 league games for the Baggies, who placed ninth in the Championship after Burnley won the league title and was promoted to the Premier League.
“Burnley have agreed a deal to sign Dara O’Shea from West Brom,” according to reaport
“The Republic of Ireland centre-back will have a medical at Turf Moor on Thursday.”
West Brom were perhaps always destined to lose a few players this summer for various reasons, particularly amid their financial issues behind the scenes at The Hawthorns.
But the fact they also rapidly climbed the table over the months also meant a few of their star men would attract interest from elsewhere, and that is now the case for defensive ace O’Shea.
Often captaining the Baggies, the defender played a key role in their revival under Carlos Corberan, with his displays now rewarding him with a huge move to the Premier League.
His previous experience in the top flight will definitely help him settle into life at Turf Moor quickly, while the centre-back can also act as a role model for those at Burnley without any experience in the Premier League.
The deal will represent a superb signing for the Clarets, but at the same time it is a huge loss for the Albion.
