Barcelona anticipates reaching a Clement Lenglet deal with Tottenham.
Lenglet, who spent last season on loan in north London and is available this summer for as cheap as £5million, is a player
that Spurs are thinking about signing on a permanent basis.
Lenglet made 35 appearances for Spurs during his loan season there last year.
The 28-year-old French defender would provide Ange Postecoglou, the new head coach of Spurs, a left-footed center-back
alternative.
It is not thought that a deal for Lenglet is close but Barcelona president Joan Laporta said: “I think that with Tottenham we
will reach an agreement for Lenglet. This almost never goes fast. It depends on the other party.”
Spurs want to upgrade their defence this summer and are also interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba and
Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

Interestingly, Tottenham are not the first North London club that Solomon has been linked with in recent years.
In 2021, the attacker was on the radar of Arsenal, and he himself was reportedly keen on a move to the Gunners.
Football.London stated in January 2021 that the youngster was “highly interested” in joining Arsenal.
The Israeli international would apparently be “delighted” to join Arsenal, according to a source close to Solomon at the time.
The winger was allegedly offered to Arsenal Sporting Director Edu (at the time the Gunners’ Technical Director) by super
agent Pini Zahavi.
According to the source, Zahavi had also extended a May 2020 bid to Arsenal for Solomon.
The winger is now headed to Arsenal’s fierce North London rivals Tottenham, but nothing came of it.
