Harry Winks has left Tottenham, ending a long career at the north London club that began in 2014. He made his Premier
League debut during the 2016–2017 campaign, and scored his first goal for Spurs when playing away at Liverpool.
15 appearances for England along the way tells its own story of a Tottenham nearly man who was never quite able to have a
noteworthy career despite seemed to be always shaping up for one.
With a loan transfer to Sampdoria, where he made 19 appearances, Winks’ Spurs career came to an end. Upon his return to
London, Winks found himself a part of James Maddison’s arrival and will play for Leicester City next season.
He came, he saw, he hit an awful lot of sideways passes is the truth.
Many will be wheeling out the phrase, ‘loyal servant’ which is beyond me. It was always my understanding he was paid
handsomely across his dozen seasons or so.
Spurs need to keep up the pace in the transfer market, there are many more where Winks came from. Tanguy
Ndombele arrived at Hotspur Way this weekend looking as if it was all too much for him.
Eric Dier has surely run out of places to hide, and Ben Davies is another one that has been making up the numbers. If fans
want to see Spurs improve, improve the quality of the players. Sacking coaches that have been serial winners everywhere
else they have managed, is not the answer.

Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on improving their defensive unit this summer and the Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba is one of their main targets.
Tottenham has sent scouts to see the defense in action frequently, and Fabrizio Romano claims that the defender might be
made available at a fee of about £45 million this summer.
Tapsoba is a top target for Tottenham, according to Romano, who admits as much on his Here We Go podcast. He has
apparently been observed by club scouts numerous times this season, and they have been really impressed.
The 24-year-old is ideal for Premier League football, according to Tottenham. They value Tapsoba’s leadership abilities in
addition to his defense skills.
Spurs think he would be a great choice for them, but it is unclear if they would be willing to pay the stated asking price.
Tottenham will have to pay a significant sum of money to acquire the Burkina Faso international because Bayer Leverkusen
is unwilling to trade a crucial player for a low price.
The player will probably be persuaded to sign with the London club, and it will be difficult to resist a move to the Premier
League.
Although the 24-year-old is still relatively young and his asking price of £45 million might appear high at this time, he will
probably get better with time. In the ensuing seasons, he might wind up defending the transfer expense.
Tottenham is interested in Wolfsburg star Micky van de Ven this summer in addition to Bundesliga defender Tapsoba.
