Done Deal: Tottenham Hostpur Signed 24 year old Bayer Leverkusen centre-back for €40 million, Medical to be held Tomorrow.

According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, Tottenham could launch a €40 million bid to sign key defensive target Edmond

Tapsoba.

The 24-year-old centre-back wants a move to England, but Bayer Leverkusen do not necessarily want to sell their

important player, although a good offer could tempt the Bundesliga club.

Edmond Tapsoba has been one of the consistent performers for Bayer Leverkusen over the years. He and some other stars

are the club’s key asset, and the 24-year-old centre-back might look to leave the Bundesliga club for a move to England.

There has been interest in the defender, but nothing concrete has arrived on Bayer Leverkusen’s table. There have been

rumblings about Tottenham’s interest in Tapsoba. But the north London club are yet to make any reliable offers for the 24-

year-old centre-back.

The report claims Bayer Leverkusen have no intention to sell Tapsoba in the current window. However, a good financial

offer from suitors could help change the stance of the Bundesliga club. They are not overly adamant about the defender

staying but could force the issue to bring better numbers to the table.

Widespread reports have insisted Tottenham are prioritising a move for Tapsoba in this window. After making attacking

inclusions in James Maddison and Manor Solomon, new boss Ange Postecoglu wants to shake up his defensive ranks.

After disappointing performances from most defenders at the club, Postecoglu has come in with his idea of a shake-up.

While Tapsoba remains a target, Tottenham are negotiating a move for Micky van de Ven and remains locked in discussions

for Clement Lenglet.

It is indicative that Spurs want more than one defender in this window. Now, they could lodge a bid for Tapsoba worth €40

million, although Leverkusen might look to seek more. The first offer might open the doors to properly discuss a move as the

two sides could later reach a middle ground.

While Bayer Leverkusen’s reluctance to sell seems well-documented, all Spurs need to do is put money on the table to open

direct talks. With Tapsoba keen on a move to England, Tottenham will hope they are the only suitors for the towering 24-

year-old centre-back. The entry of others would complicate the chase, as Spurs consider the defender their priority target.

Spurs: Nelsson keen to join Tottenham

Galatasary’s star defender Victor Nelsson wants to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer and they’re fighting for his

signature, according to reports.

Who will Spurs sign?

Manager Ange Postecoglou and chairman Daniel Levy are hard at work to strengthen to strengthen Spurs’ ranks in time for

what will be a very interesting 2023/2024 season.

The Lilywhites, after sealing moves for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, attacking midfielder James Maddison and Israel

international Manor Solomon on a free transfer, are now thought to be chasing two central defender signings.

Postecoglou in particular is very excited about the prospect of linking up with Maddison, with the Australian explaining this

week that he believes the former Leicester City star can be a real leader of the group.

“Really excited to get James as part of the group,” said Postecoglou.

“Any manager will tell you that part of the key to being a dominant team is having multiple attacking threats and having

a midfielder who can score and create goals.

“They’re not easy to come by. He’s proven himself at that level in the last few years as somebody who can do that. When you

look at Tottenham the last few years, they’ve been really reliant on the front three to get their goals.

“He obviously knows a few of the lads and I think he’s in a stage of his career where it feels like he can be a leader, which is

great as well because we need players who want to embrace that responsibility within this group.”

The capture of Maddison is arguably Tottenham’s biggest coup of the window so far, but after conceding 63 league goals last

season, Spurs will also be eager to shore up what has been a leaky back line.

The north Londoners are thought to be advancing in talks to sign Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven, with Edmond Tapsoba of

Bayer Leverkusen, Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet and Nelsson also all in the frame.
