The striker joined the Serie A team on loan from Villarreal last summer and played 33 games while tallying 16 goals and six assists. The Italian club decided to extend his stay as a result.
At the same time, Burnley have all been keeping a close eye on the 26-year-old. At least that is what Corriere dello Sport is reporting right now.
According to the newspaper, the Senegal international has a €25 million release clause. According to reports, the Premier League three and his other admirers can sign him up for this season by’making use of the release clause’ by July 20.
If Burnley, or any other club intends to activate Dia’s clause, Corriere makes no mention of it.
Given that Habib Diallo of RC Strasbourg, who scored 20 goals last season, has been linked to Burnley it appears that English clubs are eager to strengthen their attack in current window.

“Then I called Kompany” – Player reveals how Burnley deal was struck, was in touch with two managers
A 21 year old star, a defender for Burnley, has revealed how, despite links to Feyenoord, he ended up joining the team last summer.
The 21-year-old discussed what transpired when he declined a chance to return to the Netherlands for a season in the Championship with Burnley in a recent interview with Ziggo Sport, which was translated by 1908.nl.
The latest in a string of loans from Chelsea over the past few years, he joined Vincent Kompany’s squad for the season.
He played in 39 Championship games in all, appearing in 80% of the available minutes, and it turned out to be a successful season for him as Burnley won the division and qualified for the Premier League.
Due to this, he was unable to join his previous club Feyenoord in the Netherlands, who were also interested in signing him and with whom a deal appeared to be close at one time.
He admitted that a conversation with Vincent Kompany was what ultimately convinced him to travel to Burnley.
“Arne (Slot) had called and told me they wanted me and what they were planning for me,” he claimed.
“I also simply spoke openly and honestly with Arne about the song ‘My dreams are in England. I’m honored that you would desire me. I’ll consider it, but I believe it’s great to call back if I decide.
Afterward, I dialed Kompany. I sent him a picture of Burnley. ‘I’m up for the task,’ I declared. Congratulations, let’s write it all down on paper, he said at that point. Then I went to call Arne and told him that I had made a decision but hadn’t yet made it known to the world because I wanted to express it in person.
