DONE DEAL: KLOPP just signs a 12year old Belgian ( starlet) professional player.

Liverpool and Southampton have spoken directly about the possibility of signing the talented player.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, this is the case. The transfer specialist claimed during an appearance

on The Debrief podcast that Liverpool had begun to take their efforts to sign Lavia a little more seriously despite

no imminent official proposal.

“Southampton is seeking close to £50 million for Romeo Lavia. But from what I’ve heard, Liverpool recently

made some direct contacts with both the club and the player to discuss the deal’s terms,” Romano said.

Before tackling any situation for a new midfielder, it is better to have internal conversations. It is not yet time to

make an offer. However, they are knowledgeable about Lavia.

That sounds great!

Liverpool will compete against Lavia.

Romano claims that other teams are also interested in Lavia, in contrast to the Reds. Additionally, it appears that

Chelsea and Arsenal will compete to sign him. The journalist did speculate that Liverpool might be in the lead,

though.

They [Liverpool] are aware that Arsenal is also present, but Thomas Partey is what makes Arsenal successful.

“They’re working on Partey’s prospective exit, but it’s not going to be simple.

“Joe Shields, one of the directors who had Lavia at Southampton and, of course, at Manchester City, is the

manager for Chelsea.

Therefore, the connection is excellent. Chelsea, however, is preoccupied with Moises Caciedo. Romeo Lavia is

undoubtedly one of the players on Liverpool’s list, which is why they believe they may be in a competition with

Arsenal.

Right away. It appears that this young man will be the next midfielder Liverpool signs this summer. The other

player who seemed most likely to be added was Khephren Thuram. But according to rumors this morning, the

Reds’ pursuit of the Frenchman is apparently over.

Claims have also come in that nothing further will be pursued with Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch. As of

this morning, Lavia’s is now the only name solidly in the frame.

With other interest in the Belgian also emerging though, this may change. Liverpool might have to be quick to get

a run on Arsenal and Chelsea, and it looks like that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.

There’s still plenty of time in the window for others to come into the picture. But Lavia – the player Jadon Sancho

described as being ‘special’ (The Daily Mai) – is the focus for now.

Liverpool is considering its next move in the summer transfer market with Roméo Lavia among the possible

options for Jürgen Klopp to consider in the current window.

Liverpool could still sign another midfielder this summer despite the additions of Alexis Mac Allister and

Dominik Szoboszlai, with more options being considered.

Among them, according to David Lynch, reporting for This Is Anfield, is Roméo Lavia at Southampton — with

Nice’s Khéphren Thuram said to be no longer an option after the arrival of Szoboszlai. The ECHO adds that

Thuram is still on the agenda, with club recruitment staff still determining their next move, but Lavia is certainly

high up on the list.

Not turning 20 until January, Lavia would be more of a ‘project’ signing for Liverpool — a player with a high

ceiling who could be slowly integrated into the team without being an instant first XI regular.

Playing mainly as a number six, he is seven centimeters shorter than Fabinho but offers a level of physicality.

Lavia ranks very highly for players in his position for blocks, relatively well for tackles and interceptions, and

completes an average of 1.13 take-ons per 90 minutes.

That paints a picture of someone who is fairly press resistant and that could be molded into the type of holding

midfielder that Liverpool needs in the long term.
