The demolition in the midfield at Liverpool has forced the Reds to explore market opportunities and English.
newspaper Telegraph reports that Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni happens to be Jurgen Klopp’s personal favourite.
The aforementioned outlet claims that even if Klopp manages to transition Trent Alexander-Arnold into the defensive
midfield role, they would anyway want to sign a top-quality player in the area.
This is because the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are on their way out to Saudi Arabia. Now, they have indeed
signed Dominik Szoboszlai, but there is an evident dearth in the midfield.
For that, the Premier League side has outlined several players and Tchouameni happens to be on the agenda.
It must be noted that the Frenchman was a subject of interest for Liverpool even last summer when he decided to join
Madrid on a six-year contract for a fee reported to be around €80 million, potentially rising to €100 million depending on
the criteria met.
So it is all but obvious that the 23-year-old would be of interest to the Reds even this summer. Now, Liverpool would be
more than willing to do business with Madrid if they are willing to listen to offers.
That, however, will only be made possible if they sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. If the Los Blancos do sign
Mbappe, they would need cash, which can only come from the player sales.
As it turn out, though, the team from the capital city is more than willing to wait for Mbappe to see out his contract in 2024.
This way, they would not only sign the Frenchman for free but they will also avoid any unnecessary player exits. All in
all, Tchouameni is certainly not for sale this summer.

Cheick Doucoure has been linked with a move away from Crystal Palace this summer, with Liverpool keen on signing him.
According to a report from 90min, Crystal Palace value Cheick Doucoure at £65 million. The Malian midfielder is a target
for Liverpool, and it remains to be seen whether the Reds are ready to pay up for him.
The 23-year-old has done quite well for Crystal Palace this past season, and his performances have caught the attention of
Liverpool. The talented young midfielder could prove to be a quality, long-term investment for the Reds this summer.
Liverpool midfielders Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are expected to leave the club soon. So the Reds will have to replace
them adequately. Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer. They will need to
sign a quality defensive midfielder as well, and the Crystal Palace star would be ideal.
The 23-year-old has shown his qualities in the Premier League. And the opportunity to move to a big club like Liverpool
could be hard to turn down. Apparently, the midfielder is valued at £65 million. But Liverpool are unlikely to be able to shell
out that kind of money for him.

The Reds have limited finances, and they will have to improve the other areas of their squad as well. It remains to be seen
whether Crystal Palace are ready to lower their demands from £65 million for the player.
There is no doubt that the 23-year-old has the ability to develop into one of the best defensive midfielders in the league. But
his exorbitant asking price could complicate any potential move.
Liverpool had a disappointing 2022/23 campaign, and they missed out on Champions League qualification. They will be
desperate to bounce back strongly next season and compete for major trophies. It remains to be seen whether they can
improve their squad significantly in the remaining weeks of the window and come back stronger next season.
