Done Deal: Burnley Hit To Sign New Star Who Could Attain New Height Under Kompany

According to The Sun, Che Adams is set to leave Southampton this summer for a fee of up to £15 million,

with Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Burnley all considering making a move to sign the striker in this

transfer window.

Adams was one of the few bright lights for Southampton last season. The 26-year-old managed to bag 10

goals for the Saints in all competitions as the club succumbed to relegation. He now look’s likely to leave

St Mary’s Stadium, rather than stick around in the Championship and try to fire the club straight back

into the top flight.

Adams certainly has the quality to remain in the Premier League, and could flourish as the focal point of

a more cohesive side.

Should Burnley sign Che Adams?

Considering he seems to be available for the relatively cheap (by the standards of the modern transfer

market) fee of £15 million, and is a player in his prime years who brings with him plenty of Premier

League experience, Adams makes sense as a target for Burnley.

Vincent Kompany’s side play attractive, progressive football, and Adams could thrive off of the chances

they generate. With Wout Weghort’s future in question, a new striker or two will also be a priority for the

Clarets this summer. The addition of Adams would make Burnley more potent up front, and the 23-cap

Scotland international should take his game to new levels at Turf Moor.

WOUT WEGHORST’S CURRENT BURNLEY CONTRACT STATUS

Is Wout Weghorst still a Burnley player? Many have asked this on Google as the Dutchman closes in on a

move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have reached an agreement to sign the Netherlands international on loan until the end of

the season, with the deal costing a total of €3m (£2.7m).

That is according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

So, is Weghorst still a Burnley player? Let’s take a look…

Is Wout Weghorst still a Burnley player?

Yes – Weghorst is still a Burnley player.

The 30-year-old signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Clarets back in January 31st 2022 as he

was brought in to help keep Burnley in the Premier League, after a £12m agreement was struck with VfL

Wolfsburg.

Unfortunately, Weghorst scored just two goals in 20 Premier League appearances as Burnley were

relegated to the Championship, before it was decided that he would join Besiktas on loan for the

2022/23 campaign.

The Dutchman has done well in Turkey so far, scoring nine goals in 18 appearances across all

competitions.

While Besiktas do not technically own Weghorst, they did agree to have him on loan for the entirety of

the 2022/23 campaign, so Manchester United are awaiting their permission after shaking hands on a

move with Burnley.

It seems like the move will happen, as the towering striker appeared to wave goodbye to Besiktas fans.
