DONE DEAL: 29 YEAR OLD STAR JOINS KOMPANY BURNLEY ON THREE YEAR DEAL, THE STAR HAS EARNED HIS WAY TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE.

A GOALKEEPER who was playing for bitter rivals Swindon Town was sent off twice in one season against Oxford United

and has since won a transfer to the Premier League.

In both of the U’s games in the 2016–17 Sky Bet League One season, Lawrence Vigouroux received a red card.

In September 2016, United defeated the visitors 2-0 at the Kassam Stadium, with both Lloyd Jones and Vigouroux receiving

red cards.

A month later, Vigouroux and U’s boss Michael Appleton squared up to each other as both sides went off at half-time in an

EFL Trophy tie at the Robins.

The following February, when the two clubs faced off, Vigouroux was again unable to finish the game after he collided with

Kane Hemmings on the brink of the penalty box.

The 29-year-old former Leyton Orient player has now agreed to a three-year contract with Burnley.

In all three of his seasons with the team, he was named the O’s player of the year, and last season, he assisted them in

winning League Two.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan breaks his silence on Dara O’Shea transfer exit

Latest West Brom news from BirminghamLive as Baggies boss Carlos Corberan has his say on the departure of Dara O’Shea

to Premier League side Burnley.

West Brom head coach Carlos Corberan has said Dara O’Shea “will be in the heart of every fan” after his departure to newly

promoted Burnley.

The 24-year-old has made his way through the academy at the Hawthorns making his breakthrough in the 2019/20 season.

He made 37 appearances in the Championship last season, wearing the captain’s armband for the first time against Hull City

back in August.

O’Shea will now get the chance to make an impression on the Premier League after signing a four-year deal at last season’s

Championship champions. The Irishman could make his debut for Burnley when they host Manchester City at Turf Moor on

Friday, 11 August (8pm kick-off).

And Corberan was full of praise for the defender after hailing his impact at the club. “I wish Dara success and happiness in

his future career. He has been a very, very special player for this club,” Corberam told the club’s official website

“He will be in the heart of every fan because every time he put on the shirt he gave everything and played at 100 per cent.

“He is an example of what we need to do. The club recruited him for previous seasons and not from the highest level. The

club was working with him and improving him. He has made an amazing contribution for the situation of the club.

“Dara is an example of the type of profile of player we want to have in the club. A player who has been in the lower leagues or

maybe non-league football, to arrive to play minutes in the Premier League with our club.

“Of course, we wish Dara all the best. It was an agreement which worked for both parts.”

The Spaniard has also insisted that the club’s current priorities are to strengthen the squad despite admitting that their

current situation is “different” to the previous year.
