DONE DEAL: 26 Year Old Celtics Small forward, Shooting guard) Star agree to Record Breaking 5-year $304 million supermax extension Contract

After weeks of speculation and reports of some hurdles in negotiations, the Boston Celtics and Jaylen Brown have agreed to

a contract that makes him the richest player in NBA history.

Over the last seven seasons, Jaylen Brown has put in the work and effort to develop himself into a legitimate elite-level talent

in the league. While earning his second trip to the All-Star game in 2022-2023, the 26-year-old also secured a spot on an All-

NBA team. Which pushed him into a unique category to land a supermax deal this offseason.

Well, after weeks of negotiations following the team’s elimination in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics and

Jaylen Brown have reportedly agreed to a landmark deal on Tuesday. The Athletic’s NBA insider Shams Charania was the

first to report the news of the talented guard landing a five-year, supermax contract extension worth $304 million. It is

reportedly “the richest deal in NBA history.”

It was a deal that had to happen if the organization hopes to maintain its impressive run of success over the last eight

seasons for many more years ahead. Brown has become one of the best players at his position in the league and is one of the

few superstar-level talents that is also a top talent on the defensive side of the ball.

The contract also puts to rest any talk that Jaylen Brown may be looking for his exit from the Boston Celtics and has soured

on the franchise and city due to high expectations for the team due to their recent success.

What should Boston Celtics fans realistically expect from Jordan Walsh in his rookie season?

The Boston Celtics entered this offseason with a plan to find low-cost talent that contributes right away. They seem to have

found it with second-round pick Jordan Walsh.

With his recent play in the NBA Summer League, Walsh has given Celtics fans a reason to expect big things next season. We

at the Houdini are here to tell you that Walsh will be a rotation player for the Cs next season, and he could even be the

perfect Grant Williams replacement.

Walsh is an underrated prospect due to being at Arkansas this past season. Most people forget that Walsh was a McDonalds

All American in high school, so he was a highly touted player. Walsh fell to the second round because he played on a team

that had other NBA players. If Walsh would have gone to a school where he was the best player, he probably would have

a first-round pick.

As a result, the Cs are the real winners because they found a diamond in the rough that fits what they are looking for. Walsh

is a low-cost replacement for Williams, and he will be under team control. Boston Celtics fans should ultimately be expecting

two things from Walsh next season: that he will fill the void left by Williams and become one of the best defenders on the

team.

Jordan Walsh will take over Grant Williams’ Boston Celtics role

Although Walsh won’t fully fill the void left by Williams, he will eventually assume that role. The fact that the Celtics got

Oshae Brissett is important because it takes some of the pressure off of Walsh to step into that role right away. I think fans

will see flashes of Walsh’s potential this season, and it will remind them of Williams.

The elite defense is a guarantee because he is as good as advertised. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Walsh is a

borderline top-five defender on the team. Adding his length to the likes of Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Robert

Williams is going to be exciting to see.
