Derby County resume their League One campaign this weekend after the international break as they face Bristol Rovers at Pride Park.

Victory for Paul Warne’s side can take them into the top six with Derby looking to issue a response to their defeat to Crewe in the FA Cup last Tuesday.

Derby County have been linked with a move for Blackpool winger CJ Hamilton who is also said to be interesting Championship duo Huddersfield and QPR.

Hamilton is out of contract next summer meaning he will become a free agent should he not sign a new contract with the Seasiders. That may prompt Blackpool to cash-in on the former Mansfield winger in January rather than lose him for nothing when the season ends.

Derby are looking to bolster their options in the New Year with head coach Paul Warne admitting he is looking to add to the “top end of the pitch”. And Football Insider claim that Hamilton is one name under consideration with the 28-year-old have registered one goal and six assists so far this season.

Hamilton has been ever present for Blackpool in League One this season, but has played as a wing-back in a 3-5-2 system. Hamilton, who signed a one-year extension to his current deal in the summer, featured against Derby earlier in the campaign when Paul Warne’s side registered one of their best performances of the campaign in a 3-1 victory at Bloomfield Road.

Fornah sees red in Sierra Leone drama

Derby County midfielder Tyrese Fornah was sent off for Sierra Leone on Sunday in a dramatic World Cup qualifying clash against Egypt. The former Reading midfielder was dismissed in the first half as Egypt ran out 2-0 winners with Trezeguet, the former Aston Villa winger, scoring twice

But the game hit the headlines as a result of pitch invasion which happened a minute before time with a small number of fans attempting to reach Mo Salah. The Liverpool star took it all in his stride despite concerns for his safety which led to stewards and the army helping to escort him from the field.

Fornah will now be in contention for a place in Derby’s midfield when they face Bristol Rovers this weekend. The Rams could move into the top six with a victory over Rovers who will include former Derby striker Chris Martin in their squad.
