Ex-footballer banned from darts for two years after guilty match-fixing verdict
Jack Main took up darts at the age of 20 after his football career was curtailed by injury.
Jack Main has been handed a two-year ban by the DRA
Former Norwich City prospect Jack Main has been banned from darts for two years. The 27-year-old will be unable to return to the sport until 2026 at the earliest, after being found guilty of match-fixing by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA).
Main was released by the Canaries as a teenager before signing with non-league side Lowestoft. “I was on the verge of signing for their first team when I got injured,” he explained to the Eastern Daily Press in 2021.
“I snapped my kneecap in three places. I’ve got three screws in my knee now and they took my cartilage out. My knee was an absolute goner.”
Main took up darts at the age of 20 and managed to work his way onto the PDC Tour between 2021 and 2022. He has been playing at amateur level since losing his tour card, and things have gone from bad to worse in recent months.

Lisa Ashton beat Jack Main 4-0 in June last year
The DRA have now found Main guilty of match-fixing and banned him until the end of 2025. The case centred around a 4-0 defeat to Lisa Ashton in the Modus Super Series last June.
Ashton was not involved in any way, according to the DRA, who released the following statement: “On 11th December 2023 the DRA Disciplinary Committee heard the case against Jack Main where he was charged with fixing the outcome of his match with Lisa Ashton, played on 9th June 2023 in the Modus Super Series Event.
