Currently: Spurs have overtaken five clubs in the race to sign interesting players.
Spurs has revealed that as many as five different clubs were keen on landing Antonio Nusa just a couple of months ago before Tottenham stepped into the picture and moved into pole position.
Spurs have made some excellent transfer acquisitions over the last couple of years and now boast of some of the best young players in Europe.
It now looks like yet another exciting prospect is on his way to North London, with various reports over the past couple of days suggesting that Nusa is edging close to a move to the club.
This includes an update by TEAMtalk on Wednesday afternoon which revealed that there is hope at Hotpsur Way that a £26m deal would be agreed swiftly, with Spurs having given the greenlight for the winger to remain at Club Brugge until the end of the season.
Tottenham fans are understandably over the moon with the potential capture, with the 18-year-old emerging as one of the most thrilling wide players in Europe over the past 12 months.
Tottenham are leading the way for Antonio Nusa
Brown has revealed that Spurs were far from Nusa’s only admirers, with a whole host of clubs expressing an interest in the player before Ange Postecoglou’s men muscled their way in and moved to the front of the queue.

He told GiveMeSport: “It’s interesting because I think Nusa was on four or five different clubs’ radar a few months back. Some of those clubs have cooled on him since, and I think Tottenham are favourites to get him if they do make a move.
“He is a very promising player that a lot of clubs have scouted and, for one reason or another, passed over through the years.
“I think Spurs have done some really good business since Postecoglou came in. Their scouting and recruitment team seem to be completely aligned with the manager, which hasn’t always been the case in the past.”

The Nusa deal could potentially be an even bigger coup than the Desinty Udogie one, given how highly the 18-year-old is rated.
There is no guarantee with young players that they will reach their potential but given Postecoglou’s system and man-management style, one would think that Nusa could not ask for a better environment to fulfil his promise.

The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke has shed light on how Guglielmo Vicario has settled in at Tottenham Hotspur, revealing that the Italian is quite popular among the staff at the club and his teammates.
It was only natural that some Spurs fans were sceptical of the club’s signing of Vicario in the summer.
Although he arrived at the North London club on the back of two outstanding seasons at Empoli, we have seen top goalkeepers from Italy and Spain struggle to adapt to the Premier League, with Man Utd’s Andre Onana, who also arrived in the summer, being a prime example.
However, Vicario has not put a foot wrong at Spurs and has not only showcased his excellent shot-stopping ability but also impressed with his decision-making, which is a crucial factor for Ange Postecoglou’s side, given the way they play out from the back.
Several pundits have named the Tottenham newcomer in their Premier League team of the season so far ahead of more established names (GiveMeSport).
Guglielmo Vicario is already popular at Hotspur Way
Pitt-Brooke has now revealed that Vicario has also made a great impression off the pitch, with the Italian being a very popular figure at Hotspur Way.
The journalist told the Last Word on Spurs podcast about the goalkeeper: “He’s the complete package. He’s a really smart and interesting guy and I know the staff at Tottenham love him, he speaks perfect English.
“He’s incredibly good with the kids, not just the lads in the Tottenham academy but also the community projects and so on. He’s a brilliant character and the kind of character you need in the dressing room.”

In Vicario, we not only have an outstanding goalkeeper but a fantastic human being. He is also a naturally vocal character, who has leadership qualities, which is why I would not be surprised if he eventually becomes captain a few years.
