Liverpool are assessing their options to potentially replace Mohamed Salah in 2024.
Liverpool are starting to consider their options in attack as they prepare for a potential future without Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian’s contract is due to run out in 2025, so the Reds will need to cash in next year to avoid losing him for free, if he opts not to stay at Anfield.
During the summer, Salah was subject to heavy interest from Saudi Arabia and they remain fiercely interested in bringing him over as soon as possible. Even in the final months of his contract, Liverpool can still expect to command quite a handsome fee for Salah, who has already contributed 10 goals and five assists in the Premier League so far
The burning question though, is who could fill the winger’s boots? A recent report from Italy has claimed that one of Liverpool’s summer targets could finally be headed for a move. According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Rousing the Kop), Juventus are ‘bracing for offers’ for Federico Chiesa.
Liverpool were interested in making a move for Chiesa during the summer but Newcastle United and Bayern Munich were also keeping tabs on the 26-year-old. His contract, like Salah, is due to expire in 2025 but summer reports claimed he wanted to consider options from other clubs as he no longer felt ‘at the centre of the project’ with Juventus.
Chiesa is a versatile player who plays primarily on the left wing but can also operate centrally and on the right. He has been lauded as a ‘world-class’ player and has four goals and two assists to his name so far this season.
Liverpool could be in a favourable position to sign Chiesa next summer but they will need to act swiftly as other interested parties will not wait around. Plus, with the player’s reported desire to move on as it is, teams will be flocking to tempt him away from Juve.
Juventus are reportedly bracing themselves for offers next year for Federico Chiesa, with Liverpool rumoured to be interested in the winger.
The Italian international’s future has become a major talking point this season, with the winger’s contract with Juventus due to be extended by an extra year after an impressive campaign with the Bianconeri.
Four goals and two assists off the back of a season where Chiesa returned from a long-term ACL injury is a decent return for the attacker, and as a result, Liverpool are now reportedly interested in the forward.
And now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are bracing for offers for Chiesa next summer, with the report stating that Premier League clubs remain interested in the 26-year-old forward.
Indeed, with Liverpool expected to lose Mohamed Salah to Saudi Arabia, Chiesa could be an exceptional signing, with 90min lauding the Juventus star as ‘world-class’.
And after this latest update, there’s a good chance that Liverpool could now land Chiesa, especially with Juventus fearing that the forward could be on the move in 2024.
Liverpool need to intensify their interest for Federico Chiesa
Chiesa has been on Liverpool’s radar for what feels like forever, and this update strongly indicates that the Reds could potentially move back in for the attacker.
The Anfield side need a suitable replacement for Salah in 2024 when the forward moves on to Saudi Arabia, and Chiesa could be the man for the job.
As we know, the winger is a dynamic attacker who knows how to score as well as create, and Jurgen Klopp could get the best out of Chiesa at Liverpool.
And with Juventus now expecting offers, there’s not much stopping Liverpool from launching their own move to sign the attacker, who could be an exceptional addition to Klopp’s arsenal.
