Nottingham Forest play Burnley at the City Ground tonight with three points very much the order of the day and we’ve looked at a predicted XI.
The Reds face the Clarets in the league for the first time in several years and Vincent Kompany’s team hope to claim their first points of the season.
Forest are a team in decent form though. They’ve won two of their four matches so far and beat Chelsea on the road last time out.
Ahead of tonight’s game, we’ve looked at the predicted XI that we think Steve Cooper will go with on Trentside.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI vs Burnley
The Forest rearguard
We think that Cooper might opt for a back four tonight as he aims to make Forest more attacking.
Matt Turner’s wife is due to give birth but no news at the moment is good news and perhaps he will keep his place this evening.
Serge Aurier should shake off a knock to take his place in the team and start at right-back.
On the left, Nuno Tavares might be handed a full debut after coming off the bench against Chelsea.
At centre-back, Cooper now has some options. Joe Worrall is bang in form and he will keep his place after his new contract.
Alongside him, the Reds could see Moussa Niakhate return. He would be the natural option on the left of the two and starting him would be a useful move.
The Forest engine room
Ibrahim Sangare will surely start for the Reds this evening.
The player who has been called ‘unstoppable’ will make his debut after a £30 million move from PSV on deadline day.
With Cooper likely to go with a 4-3-3 system this evening, both Orel Mangala and Ryan Yates will likely keep their places for this one.
Danilo is likely to be missing with the hamstring problem that he picked up against Chelsea.
Leading the Forest line
The three that play in attack will likely roam from their positions and be flexible.
Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi pick themselves, with both players arguably the best players within the squad.
Elsewhere, there could be a decision to be made over who gets the nod to fill the void left by Brennan Johnson.
Anthony Elanga is the obvious option but he withdrew from international duty with a niggle.
As a result, there could be another debut with Callum Hudson-Odoi earning the chance to start the game.
