HLN are reporting that Genk are happy with an offer from Burnley for last seasons Belgian Pro League player of the season Mike Trésor. Burnley are
looking to loan the winger with an mandatory purchase option. Genk have now put the ball in the wingers court, who will discuss the details of the
contract with the Premier League side. Trésor has been linked with the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Reims this summer, but none of the
proposals from those sides have resulted in a permanent transfer.
The 24-year-old winger set the record for assists in a single season during the 2022/2023 season with 24, while also grabbing eight goals. So far this
season he has only made two Pro League appearances due to injury. Without him, Genk have struggled. While they have only conceded one goal
domestically, they have also not shown the attacking prowess that impressed last campaign. In four matches, they only have five goals, with two wins
a draw and a loss. In Europe Genk have really struggled, losing out to both Servette and Olympiacos in Champions League and Europa League
qualification respectively.
With their last chance in the Conference League, the side needed a last minute winner from Daniel Munoz to take a 2-1 lead into their away tie
against Turkey’s Adana Demirspor.

‘Negotiations are progressing’ after Burnley make offer for signing – Personal terms ‘shouldn’t be an issue’
At the weekend, Het Belang van Limburg reported Burnley stand out in the race for Mike Trésor who’s valued at €25m by Genk. It was also stated
Vincent Kompany has followed the winger for a long time and would love to sign him for the Clarets.
Trésor scored eight goals and registered 24 assists last season and now wants to continue his career in the Premier League.
That’s according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who states Burnley have made an offer to sign the 24-year-old.
He adds the ‘negotiations are progressing’ between the English club and the Jupiler Pro League side for a loan deal with an option to buy but makes
no mention of the figures proposed by Burnley.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri also took to Twitter to add that Kompany’s side are still keen on the attacker and working to find an agreement
with Genk for his transfer.
Burnley haven’t yet opened talks to discuss personal terms with Trésor. Tavolieri says that ‘shouldn’t be an issue’, considering that the player seems
keen to play under Kompany’s orders at Turf Moor.
