With the fourth round matches taking place the week beginning October 30, United will have to deal with the Magpies once more.

For the past ten years, one of the traditional big six has won the Carabao Cup, and in the past 20 years, they have only been thwarted three times: by Middlesbrough in 2004, Birmingham City in 2011, and Swansea in 2013. The only two of the big six still in the running are City and Tottenham, who were eliminated in the second round.
