Burnley offer for 12 goals 5 assists signing higher than fee requested by club –Star is Kompany’s core Target and final answer to replace ex-man united star departure

Burnley have ‘concrete interest’ in Hertha Berlin’s Dodi Lukebakio, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Operating on the right wing and up front, he scored 12 goals and registered five assists from 33 games last season. This wasn’t enough to help the German club avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.

The journalist says Burnley are not alone as Atalanta are still in the picture to sign the 25-year-old. He has 12 months left on his contract and Tavolieri adds Hertha want €10m to sanction his sale.

The Belgium international, for his part, seems to be keen to leave Hertha this summer. He wants to join a club where he doesn’t experience another relegation battle after the one he went through last season.

In another tweet, Tavolieri has provided additional updates on Burnley’s pursuit of the former Watford man.

He claims Vincent Kompany’s side have made an offer of €11m plus €2m bonuses last Friday.

Tavolieri states Burnley are now waiting for Lukebakio’s ‘final answer’ by the end of this week, to try and close the deal. This would suggest Hertha may have already accepted the Premier League side’s offer, which is higher than the fee requested by them.

Burnley sign Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge

Burnley have completed the signing of Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year deal at Turf Moor.

Berge became the Blades’ record signing in 2020 when he joined from Genk for a £22million fee.

The midfielder has scored 13 goals in 97 appearances for the Yorkshire club and was entering the final 12 months of his deal at Bramall Lane. He has also represented Norway 36 times at senior level.

“I have heard a lot of good things about the club and seeing the success from outside last season, there’s a great project building here,” he told the club website.

“It’s a great environment full of young talented players from all around the world, so I just think it’s the perfect fit for me.

“The club has high ambitions, making several signings and it all just fits into what I’m looking for.”

Burnley have also announced that Manuel Benson has put pen to paper over a new four-year deal at Turf Moor.

The Belgian youth international joined the Clarets last summer and played a key role as Vincent Kompany’s side clinched the Championship title.

Benson scored 13 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions, including a memorable strike in the East Lancashire derby at Ewood Park.

He follows team-mate Anass Zaroury, who recently signed a new five-year deal at Turf Moor ahead of the new season.

Kompany’s men welcome treble winners Manchester City to Turf Moor in their opening fixture on Friday night (8pm).
