Novak Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, recently celebrated her 38th birthday with the Serb and their close ones. The couple also slow-danced as they reveled in the evening.

Djokovic was most recently in action at the 2024 French Open. He has since been recuperating from a knee injury that forced him to pull out of the quarterfinals in Paris. The Serb has been making the most of his break, cherishing the moments spent with his wife and loved ones.

A week after his knee surgery, Novak Djokovic and his wife, Jelena, enjoyed a “magical wedding weekend” with their family. On Monday, June 17, the Serb also celebrated his “doubles” partner’s 38th birthday with an adorable message, showing his admiration for her.

“Happy birthday to the greatest wife, mother, friend, partner, leader, teacher, inspiration I could wish for. My doubles partner for life, Jelena,” Djokovic wrote on Instagram.

The couple, who’ve been married for almost 10 years, then marked the special occasion with their friends and family. In the videos shared on social media, Jelena could be seen singing her heart out. She was joined by the 24-time Grand Slam champion as they sang together to live music. The two shared an affectionate kiss and also slow-danced as their guests watched on.

On the tennis front, Novak Djokovic has had a forgettable 2024 campaign so far.

The Serb is title-less, having failed to defend his Australian Open and French Open titles from last year, and has yet to reach a tournament final. His recent knee surgery is also likely to hamper his Wimbledon participation chances.

2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, an admirer of the Serb, touched upon his wavering form during her appearance on Prime Video last month.

“I was lucky enough to have a discussion with one of his staff members before the tournament started,” she said during the French Open.

Bartoli indicated that the former World No. 1 has been struggling to keep himself motivated and often longs to be with his wife, Jelena, and his two children, Stefan and Tara.

“In fact, the biggest problem they have to deal with Novak at the moment is that there are days when he wakes up with his motivation intact, and there are days when, we can understand him, he wants to be with his wife, his children, to take them to school, to lead a normal life, to be at the beach, to enjoy and to tell himself that he has accomplished everything,” Bartoli added.

While Novak Djokovic hasn’t confirmed whether he will skip Wimbledon to train for the Olympics, the Serb has shared his desire to return to competition “as soon as possible.”
