Breaking News:Former Liverpool star And Legend in Line To Become Sheffield Wednesday New Manager After Darren Moore Exit.

Recently, Gerrard declined a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia to serve as manager of the Saudi Pro League.

The 43-year-old moved to Aston Villa, where he was fired in October, after leading Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership championship in ten years in 2021.

Darren Moore, the former manager of the Baggies, abruptly left his position at Hillsborough after leading the Owls back to the Championship.

In the past, Gerrard has expressed a desire to return to management if the appropriate opportunity presented itself.

In the meantime, Bruno Lage, the former manager of Wolves, has dipped in the odds.

The 47-year-old was yesterday’s second favorite according to some bookies, but Lage is now a 10/1 long shot alongside Nathan Jones and Gary O’Neil.

Steven Gerrard’s future in management has been under intense speculation in recent weeks – and now the Liverpool legend is being tipped to take his next step in the Championship

Steven Gerrard, a former captain of Liverpool, has been tabbed as the early favorite to lead Championship team Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls unexpectedly fired Darren Moore earlier this week by mutual consent, despite the fact that Moore had guided them to promotion through a League One play-off victory against Yorkshire rivals Barnsley at Wembley.

Carlos Carvahal, a past occupant of the Hillsborough hot seat, was declared the early favorite with 2/1 odds. However, Gerrard, who is at 11/4, has surpassed the Portuguese coach.

In 2018, the 43-year-old accepted his first management position with Rangers, which he guided to their first Scottish Premier League championship in ten years. In 2021, he would leave for Aston Villa to accept a significant Premier League opportunity.

Sheffield Wednesday appear to have ‘no chance’ of bringing former boss Carlos Carvalhal back to Hillsborough.

That is according to a report from the Sheffield Star, who reported that Carvalhal was under consideration for a return to Wednesday.

The Owls stunned everyone by parting ways with boss Darren Moore on Monday despite winning promotion to the Championship.

It’s unclear just who Wednesday want to replace Moore but Carvalhal was suggested as a candidate.

However, The Sheffield Star quote Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri as saying there is ’no chance’ of that deal taking place.

Chansiri was speaking at a fan forum on Tuesday evening and appeared to completely rule out Carvalhal making a stunning return.

The Portuguese boss took charge of Wednesday back in 2015 and immediately guided them to the Championship playoff final, only to lose to Hull City.

Carvalhal moved on in 2017 but is still liked by Wednesday fans and is available after leaving Celta Vigo last week.
