Breaking News: Tottenham are on the verge to sign 22 year old Dutch central defender.

Tottenham have reportedly started direct negotiations with Wolfsburg over a transfer for the 22-year-old defender and will

make a verbal offer soon, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Scouting Report: Micky Van De Ven

The Dutchman reportedly wants to depart, but it’s unclear whether Spurs and his club can agree on a transfer fee.

The defender will be eager to demonstrate his abilities at a higher level after moving to the Premier League, which would be

a significant step forward in his career.

It goes without saying that Tottenham will need to upgrade their defense in the summer, and van de Ven might make

Cristian Romero a better teammate. Along with his defensive skills, the 22-year-old will provide Tottenham’s defense some

additional speed.

Tottenham may find the Bundesliga defender’s quick recovery invaluable, especially if they elect to play a high line in the

upcoming campaign. Van de Ven may prove to be the ideal addition for newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou, who

prefers to play free-flowing, attacking football.

Edmond Tapsoba, a 24-year-old Burkina Faso international, is reportedly on Tottenham’s want list, according to Romano,

although he will certainly cost more than the Dutchman. Tapsoba plays defense for Bayer Leverkusen.

In order to return to the Champions League, Tottenham must strengthen their team, and the 22-year-old center defense

may turn out to be a wise long-term investment.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in signing Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

Scott has attracted interest from clubs all over Europe after an incredible season with Bristol which saw him win the EFL

Young Player of the Year award.

Among clubs keen on signing him include West Ham, Wolves, Inter Milan, Leeds United, Leicester City, Brentford,

Liverpool and Brighton.

Jacobs reported that Spurs are “seriously interested” in Alex Scott along with Wolves.

He added that Scott would cost Spurs around £25m and that Bristol City would sell him for the right price.

Speaking on the Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin YouTube channel about Tottenham and their interest in Scott, Jacobs said:

“The big one is Alex Scott for sure. There are two front runners for him who are very seriously interested in a deal –

Tottenham and Wolves.

“Wolves have been all over him for months and months and months. There are plenty of others who have looked and luckily

from Tottenham and Wolves’ point of view some of them are now in the Championship – because Leeds and Leicester were

two of them. Brentford could be one to watch and Brighton have taken a look as well.

“Scott is a phenomenal talent, with tremendous potential and very mature for his age. Even clubs like Liverpool have

scouted the player but they are one who are definitely not going to move. The deal would need around £25 million and

Bristol City know that if the right number comes in they will sell the player. This is going to be one to watch for Spurs and

Wolves.”

Scott has earned praise from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola after their meeting last season in the League Cup. The

treble winning manager called the midfielder an “unbelievable talent” after his performance.

Ange Postecoglou has a reputation of developing young talent and although he may not get into the first team immediately,

it could be an ideal move for the younsgters development.
