Zeki Amdouni, a center-forward for FC Basel, is reportedly close to joining Burnley, it has been reported today.
According to Foot Mercato, the Clarets are ‘targeting’ the 22-year-old and are in ‘advanced’ talks to sign him.
According to reports, Amdoubi is’seduced’ by the opportunity to play with Vincent Kompany at Burnley and try his
luck in the Premier League.
The Clarets are said to be in a hurry to get ahead of the competition, and their intention is to get the transfer done ‘in the next few days’.
Amdouni used to belong to Swiss side Lausanne-Sport. Last summer, he was loaned to Basel, who were satisfied with
his spell there and completed his purchase for €4m. In his year with the club, the striker had 22 goals and five assists
in 52 appearances.
For now, Foot Mercato don’t say how much Burnley are paying to sign the centre-forward. Despite the small fee he
just moved for, he’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €10m. And since he has also just signed a four-year deal
with the club, it’s very possible the Clarets will have to pay quite a bit more to get the signing done.
