BREAKING NEWS: Sheffield Wednesday now Close to sign 21-goal striker For free

One of the teams identified as having interest in signing Andy Dallas, a free agent striker, is Sheffield Wednesday. Since

being promoted to the Championship, the Owls have only added one player.

The talisman is reportedly considering his future move as of right now, per Football Insider. But Barnsley, Wigan, and

Cheltenham are also vying for his signing, so Wednesday will have competition.

Xisco Munoz is currently putting his team through their paces out in Spain. It’s less than three weeks now until the new

season gets underway and it’s fair to say Wednesday need to do some business.

Reece James is the only player who has signed for the club this summer. He made his loan permanent but other than that it’s

been far too quiet on the transfer front.

Dallas was with Chesterfield on loan last season as they reached the National League play-offs. He bagged 21 goals from 50

appearances and was considered one of the top strikers outside of the Football League.

The Owls would probably welcome someone a bit younger adding to their attacking ranks. Michael Smith and Lee Gregory

are the two strikers at the club but both stars are now in their thirties.

Wednesday one of the clubs linked with a move for Dallas

It’s not really a surprise that the player has lots of interest this summer. He will perhaps be a little bit taken aback that he’s

not signed for another club yet, especially after a strong 2022/23 campaign.

Dallas has quite a bit of experience playing professionally. He’s turned out fro Cambridge United, Chesterfield, Greenock

Morton, Stenhousemuir and he was also on the books at Rangers.

The youngster will be keen to resolve his future in the coming weeks. A move to Wednesday is surely likely to appeal and a

crack at the Championship would be an opportunity he can’t pass up on.

Rumour rating: 5/10 – It’s hard to get excited by this one. Dallas has never played any higher than League One in

England and this isn’t the type of signing that the Owls need.

Munoz is likely to be targeting better players this season. As a result, Wednesday moving for Dallas does feel unlikely.
