Kylian Mbappe has reportedly made a decision on his future amid continuous links over a move to Liverpool.

The Reds have been tentatively linked with the possibility of signing Mbappe for the past few years. The France international moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017 for a reported fee of £166 million, but there have always been rumours about his future.

Mbappe’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning he is free to negotiate with clubs outside France should he wish to do so. As a result, links over a move with Liverpool and Real Madrid have intensified in recent weeks.

According to Sport Bild, Mbappe has made the decision that he wants to join Real Madrid in the summer. It has been reported that Mbappe’s desire to win the Champions League has factored into his decision to sign for the La Liga giants.

The report goes a step further by claiming that the reason Liverpool “withdrew” from the running to sign Mbappe was due to the financial demands of the deal. It has been claimed that Mbappe currently earns €200 million (£170 million) per year at PSG through salary and bonuses, and would not want to earn less with any deal he signs with a new team.

The update on Mbappe’s future follows on from the recent report which claimed that he had demands of his own for the summer ahead. It was reported that Mbappe is keen to play for France at both the European Championships and the Olympics this summer.

It was claimed that Mbappe’s wish to play at the Olympics would be a “dealbreaker” for any team wishing to sign him in what is a unique demand. The Olympics are due to take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, which would prevent Mbappe from featuring in the latter stages of pre-season and the early days of the 2024/25 campaign.

‘I have heard’: What Mo Salah is now thinking about his Liverpool future, amid links to Saudi Arabia

Mo Salah might be injured right now at Liverpool but it hasn’t stopped the question marks over his future continuing to drag along.

Liverpool managed to keep hold of Salah in the summer. Despite huge interest from Saudi Arabia, the Reds held firm and rejected massive offers for the Egyptian.

Now into 2024 and the Saudi regime prepared to spend huge again in the summer, talk of Salah heading to the Middle East is rife once more.

However, The Athletic’s David Ornstein has suggested that while Saudi interest is there, the player himself might actually prefer to stay put.

Mo Salah could prefer to stay in Liverpool

Answering questions in his latest Q&A for The Athletic, Ornstein discussed what he knows on Salah.

And in his answer, he suggested that Salah’s preference for staying in Europe could work to Liverpool’s favour.

“Not aware of any decision on that yet. I’m sure Liverpool would like to extend Salah’s contract but, of course, that is his decision and if he doesn’t, then all involved will need to decide whether he goes into his final year or if a sale is best (depending on offers coming in),” Ornstein said.
