Breaking News: Pep Guardiola departs from Manchester City after the two sides are unable to reach an agreement based on the..

Manchester City supporters could yet be issued with positive news surrounding the future of Pep Guardiola beyond the end of next season.

The 53-year-old will see his current Manchester City contract expire at the end of the forthcoming 2024/25 campaign, having last extended his agreement with the Etihad Stadium club in the Autumn of 2022.

Guardiola has already held face-to-face talks with both Khaldoon Al Mubarak and the club’s owner Sheikh Mansour in Abu Dhabi earlier this summer, however it remains to be seen as to whether his future was part of those discussions.

For now, Pep Guardiola will be allowed all the time and space to make a decision on his future in the comfort of his family, spending the most part of his summer break along the Croatian coastline.

However, while that decision remains ongoing, a new report has pointed towards tenuous feelings from within the game concerning the future of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager.

According to the information of GIVEMESPORT’s Dean Jones, while Pep Guardiola was hinting that he might leave Manchester City after one more season at the end of the last campaign, there have recently been ‘whispers in football circles’ that he may sign a 12-month extension.

Upon winning the Premier League for a fourth consecutive season last campaign, Pep Guardiola told reporters, “The reality is I am closer to leaving than staying. We have talked with the club – my feeling is that I want to stay now.”

The legendary Manchester City manager continued, “I will stay next season and during the season we will talk. But eight or nine years – we will see.”

Manchester City’s chairman also took time to issue an update on the future of the club’s head coach, clarifying that whatever the decision is when such conversations take place, it will be the right call for all those involved.

Speaking during his end-of-season interview with the official club website, Khaldoon Al Mubarak explained, “We have had this conversation many times before, you know that, over the years of the contract.

“Pep has always been fully committed to this club, fully committed to every contract that he has signed with us. This decision on his future is always a decision that we will take together, and I have no doubt that we will find, as always, we have done, the right solution that works for Pep and works for us.”

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are expected to formally return to work following their summer break in mid-July, with a tour of the United States and four matches along the east coast pencilled in for the end of the month and into early August.

Arrivals

Fabrizio Romano: “Man City appreciate Dani Olmo, Man City like the player, he was one of the players they had on the list, for example last summer or two years ago. But at the moment, as of now, Manchester City are NOT working on a deal for Dani Olmo…”

“At the moment, the intention of Manchester City is not to advance on this kind of solution, because they are looking at different opportunities, different positions. So as of today, Dani Olmo is going to Man City? NO. At the moment the situation is quiet.” (Fabrizio Romano, YouTube)

Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala have been scouted and verified by Manchester City as elite additions for the future if they become possible. A few months back City were aware of Kimmich’s potential availability, and Pep Guardiola has always loved the idea of bringing him. Arsenal have been linked, yet the prospect of linking up with the Premier League champions is of most interest. The signing of Kimmich is more likely than Musiala. (Dean Jones, GIVEMESPORT)

Dani Olmo is believed to be high on Manchester City’s list of fancied signings. The 26-year-old has been in City’s sights in case other plans fall through, and the club already have good relations with Leipzig, having dealt with them to sign Josko Gvardiol. (Dean Jones, GIVEMESPORT)

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is of interest to Manchester City. (Dean Jones, GIVEMESPORT)

Wolves’ Pedro Neto is available at the right price this summer and Manchester City have an interest in him. The Premier League champions also have a distanced interest in Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze(Dean Jones, GIVEMESPORT)

Manchester City made a late move to hijack Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise deal. It is believed City made contact with Olise’s camp to try to force him into a late change of mind, however the Premier League champions’ ambush failed. (Pete O’Rourke, Football Insider)

Pep Guardiola is currently in the market for a “world-class” wide forward to be an immediate starter in his Manchester City side. (Pete O’Rourke, Football Insider)

Jadon Sancho has been offered to Manchester City in recent weeks. Manchester United are ‘willing’ to sell for £40 million, while the forward has also been touted to Chelsea and Arsenal. The winger earns around £275,000 a week, and there are no takers at those wages. (Tolmie’s Hairdoo)

Reported Manchester City target, Dzenan Pejcinovic has signed a long-term deal with VfL Wolfsburg. VfL sporting director, Sebastian Schindzielorz: “It’s no accident Dzenan attracted interest from top European clubs, which makes us all the more pleased that we’ll continue our path together in the long term…”

Oliver Reiß will become the new head coach of Manchester City under-18s. The 41 year-old will leave Hertha BSC after 17 years at the club, and could have become an assistant coach at RSC Anderlecht and Hertha, but ‘consciously chose’ City’s opportunity. (Florian Plettenberg)

Rayan Ait-Nouri has informed Wolves of an intention to leave the club this summer. Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are all ‘tracking’ the 23-year-old, although the Merseyside outfit are currently in ‘pole position’ to land the left-back. (Abdel Hamed)
