Breaking News: Pep Guardiola accuses VAR officials of seeking ‘leading roles On Diaz Liverpool Goal

In light of the Luis Diaz Liverpool VAR issue, Pep Guardiola claims that some officials are looking for “leading roles and Oscars.”

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has said that in the wake of the VAR fiasco involving Liverpool and Luis Diaz, officials are vying for “leading roles and Oscars.”

The VAR audio from Saturday’s match against Tottenham has been sought by Jurgen Klopp’s team after Diaz had a valid goal incorrectly overturned. PGMOL has confirmed that there was a’significant human error’ that occurred.

It’s believed that Darren England, who was in charge of the VAR for the game, incorrectly assumed that the goal had been given by the team on the field since he hurriedly yelled “check complete” to indicate that Diaz was onside.

However, the on-field team interpreted that to mean that their first ruling of offside had been accurate, and play was restarted, sparking a huge uproar later.

Guardiola has already expressed his own thoughts on what transpired, saying: “They will have to find a system where the players and the game itself are the main roles.

Not just here, but everywhere. The key positions are played by the referees and VARs. They need to take a step back, and the Oscar goes to… The players are the subject.

Be more humble and let the players handle their own actions in some games, and they will turn out better. They’ll be better, the refs.

“VAR changes the referee’s role,” They don’t make the critical choices anymore; that is the VAR’s responsibility.

“We have a problem if they make a mistake with the VAR.” I completely comprehend how angry Liverpool must feel in that circumstance.

KkIt might be a different team, but the referees’ managers will make the decisions and we’ll follow them. That’s it.

I rely on the people (PGMOL), and we must use it as effectively as we can.

I’d say that I’m not skilled in that area, that I’m not involved, and that I don’t care. I depend on people.

Everyone is aware that they erred, and Liverpool paid a heavy price for it.

Due to ongoing controversy, the VAR officials who made the error in Liverpool were not chosen.

Dan Cook and Darren England were not chosen to play in the Premier League this weekend.

The VAR officials who made a major error in Liverpool’s Premier League defeat at Tottenham on Saturday have been stood down from duty for a second round of fixtures.

Referees Darren England and Dan Cook failed to overturn Luis Diaz’s wrongly disallowed goal, after not realising that on-field referee Simon Hooper and his assistant officials had initially ruled the goal out for offside.

England and Cook were then replaced from the games between Chelsea and Fulham on Monday night and the encounter between Nottingham Forest and Brentford on Sunday, and neither official was given a Premier League match this weekend.

After serving as the fourth official for Chelsea’s victory over Fulham in Monday’s west London derby, referee Hooper will be the lead VAR for Everton’s game against Bournemouth on Saturday.

It comes after Liverpool issued an extraordinary statement claiming they will “explore a range of options” in response to the error, saying they would “receive the audio recording between the VAR officials in the 2-1 loss at Tottenham.”

The referees’ body PGMOL admitted after the match that a “significant human error” had been made and referees’ chief Howard Webb spoke to Liverpool after the match and offered an apology.
