With Napoli interested, Aston Villa might agree to a “ridiculous” deal for Jhon Duran. The Serie A powerhouses are interested in signing Duran after being enchante by the striker, according to IL Mattino [17 December]. Already in progress, the discussions have been characterised as “frantic.
Despite recent reports that Duran’s value has increased to as high as £80 million due to his performances this season, Napoli is still hoping to finalise a deal around the £30 million price range.
In recent months, Duran has drawn interest from a number of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain [via Fichajes, November 7].
“At least not until they find out how far they can advance this season in the UEFA Champions League and Premier League.” Duran just agreed to a new deal at Villa Park.
“Unless it was an absurd offer, of course, then they would have to take it into consideration, I wouldn’t be listening to any offers for him. However, Villa must retain these players if they hope to advance.
Despite starting on the bench for the majority of the season, Duran is Villa’s leading scorer and has scored some crucial goals for the team.
Ollie Watkins might be fired in light of Duran’s recent performances highlighting the significant influence the 21-year-old is having at the team. Villa won’t want to lose the forward for a mere £30 million, for that reason.
