
The sixth meeting between Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City since Christmas Day 2023, rescheduled for a Saturday at 6 p.m. to allow for international broadcasting but not English television, is hardly an exciting one.
“It’s not my choice,” grinned Danny Rohl, manager of the Owls. “Maybe you ask Coventry and they will say, ‘Not again!'” The teams will be very different, especially Wednesday’s, from when they faced off in a replay-filled FA Cup fourth-round match last season. How might provide some much-needed intrigue.
In an attempt to identify a replacement left-back from inside, the German has given us a strong indication that we may witness another positional experiment in the Midlands. However, we may also see some promising young players, possibly in addition to highly regarded 19-year-old custodian Pierce Charles.
